About Us
Our Story
Inspired by the simple utility, earth-friendliness, and comfort of cloth diapers, GladRags was founded in 1993 in Portland, Oregon. It began as a home-based business that quickly outgrew the extra bedroom and moved to its own building. Today, GladRags is still a small company but with a big presence, promoting positive attitudes toward menstruation and making the environment a safer, cleaner place. GladRags can be found in health food stores and natural pharmacies nationwide. We invite you to learn more about our commitment to sustainability here.
The GladRags Team
We have a small team of employees that keep GladRags running day to day - filling orders, answering customer questions, and brainstorming how to get more women to switch from disposables and join the GladRags Community. Learn more about the women behind the scenes at GladRags:

Tracy: Fearless LeaderFrom customer service rep to owner of GladRags in only 3 years? Doing the impossible is just Tracy's style! A young whippersnapper of 26, Tracy is a pinnacle of professionalism, and packs the perfect punch of passion and pep to keep GladRags running smoothly every single day of the week (she also has a soft spot for alliterative sentences). Between riding her bicycle to work, a healthy respect for the feline kind, and taking care of all facets of the company, Tracy still finds time to serve on the board of Women Entrepreneurs of Oregon and volunteer at the local chapter of Dress For Success! Sound too good to be true? All in a day's work for this lively lady. |

Alyssa: Customer Service SuperstarWanna chat? While Alyssa takes on a variety of projects, she's our go-to gal for exceptional customer service whether it's through live chat, email, or on the phone. When she's not answering customer questions or shipping out orders, Alyssa is a ball of energy who uses her superhuman strength (girl works out!) to lift heavy rolls of fabric. She has the cutest giggle imaginable, and decorates her desk with pinecones, moss, and other natural items. Shown here with Poppy, queen of stealing chairs, barking at intruders, and inspiring squeals of childish glee. |

Sara: Manufacturing MavenWith an eagle-eyed attention to detail, Sara keeps her team of quirky superstars busy stitching GladRags at Spooltown, a small sewing factory in Portland. With big windows facing the sidewalk, natural light, octopus decorations (we said they were quirky!), and dance music on the stereo, this is not your typical factory. Want to see where the magic happens? Head over to North Williams Avenue and have a gander! Fair warning: Sara and her team are prone to getting misty-eyed about the beauty of American manufacturing, and they will go on and on and on if you let them. |

Anna: Chief of Making Us Look GoodIf you've ever seen an ad for GladRags, you've seen Anna's work! A design pro, she's in charge of making things pretty. She loves animals and has a small army of furry creatures that we hope she will only use for good. Anna has been to almost every state in the U.S. (Hawaii is next) and will kick your butt when it comes to 80s music trivia. |

Brenda: Fairy Godmentor & GladRags FounderAlthough Brenda's no longer "officially" part of GladRags -- she's moved on to pursue her blossoming art career -- she'll never be out of our hearts! There for us when we need advice, moral support, or just a happy hour cocktail with a good friend, Brenda will always be an honorary GladRags team member. Visit www.brendamallory.com to learn more about what she's up to do these days and check out her amazing work. |

Once a week, a crew of workers and their employment specialist join our team to package our products for store shelves. |
