About Us

Our Story

Inspired by the simple utility, earth-friendliness, and comfort of cloth diapers, GladRags was founded in 1993 in Portland, Oregon. It began as a home-based business that quickly outgrew the extra bedroom.  Today, GladRags is still a small company but with a big presence, promoting positive attitudes toward menstruation and making the environment a safer, cleaner place. GladRags can be found in health food stores and natural pharmacies nationwide. We invite you to learn more about our commitment to sustainability here.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide high quality sustainable menstrual products and empower women by positively transforming the experience of menstruation.

The GladRags Team

We have a small team of employees that keep GladRags running day to day - filling orders, answering customer questions, and brainstorming how to get more women to switch from disposables and join the GladRags Community. Learn more about the women behind the scenes of GladRags below!

Want to join our team? We're always seeking passionate, enthusiastic brand ambassadors who want to help us convert more folks to reusable menstrual products. Learn more and apply to become an ambassador here.

Seasonally, we host interns who want hands-on experience in a unique small business setting. Our interns have the opportunity to work closely with the GladRags team, and we're proud to help create tomorrow's leaders by offering a highly educational experience tailored to each intern's unique goals. You can learn more about interning at GladRags here.

Seeking permanent employment? Feel free to email a resume and cover letter--we'll keep it on file for the next time we're hiring.

The GladRags Team

Tracy Puhl

Tracy: Fearless Bleeder

Tracy was hired at GladRags in 2009 and quickly discovered her knack for the period business. In 2011, she became the owner of the company at just 24 years old. When taking a break from changing the world one pantyliner at a time, Tracy can be found reading, watching 90s sitcoms, playing with her nieces, or telling people to look at how cute her cats are being right now. Seriously, look at how cute they are.

Meagan: Director of Customer Happiness

Whether you're emailing us with a question or calling to place a GladRags order for your retail store, Meagan is here to help you have a happy experience! Meagan is often accompanied to the office by her three small dogs, and has been known to carry over twelve tubes of lipstick in her purse at one time. Outside of the office, she can be found infusing bourbon and practicing her enviable make-up skills.

Eliana: Shipping Superstar

We ship a lot of cloth pads and menstrual cups, and Eliana is in charge of making sure they all make it to their final homes safe and sound! Although we're super proud to be made in the USA, Eliana is one import we absolutely adore. Hailing from America's hat, this Canadian packs up pads for customers around the globe. When she’s not at GladRags, you’ll find her perfecting her homemade pizza recipe.

Office Pugs

Roger, Riggs, & Penny: Chief Executive Arf-ficers

These three pooches bring a much needed canine presence to the team. Though Roger is wary of jazz music and elephants, nothing else gets in the way of his dedicated daily begging and finding the best heat source he can curl up next to. Riggs, on the other hand, takes a more direct managerial hand, leaping into unsuspecting laps for impromptu meetings (also: neck scratches) and making sure we meet the daily treat ball quota. And Penny just doesn't stop moving.

Friends & Supporters

Anna: Chief of Making Us Look Good

If you've ever seen an ad for GladRags, you've seen Anna's work! A design pro with her own one-woman studio, she's in charge of making things pretty. She loves animals and has a small army of furry creatures that we hope she will only use for good. Anna has been to almost every state in the U.S. (Hawaii is next) and will kick your butt when it comes to 80s music trivia.

Kelli: Marketing Mama

By day, Kelli is a social media maven cracking period jokes on the GladRags Facebook. By night, she's a ukulele-playing, costume-wearing, Pacific Northwest explorer. Kelli is the whirlwind behind Mamore Communications, where she expertly tells the stories of your favorite small brands. Kelli has two awesome kids and an orange cat named Buffalo Sauce. We have no idea what her natural hair color is, but we're pretty sure this isn't it.

Brenda: Fairy Godmentor & GladRags Founder

Pictured here with hubby Bruce at the GladRags 20th anniversary party in 2013, Brenda is an inspiration to the younger generation of menstrual revolutionaries. Although Brenda's no longer officially part of GladRags -- she's moved on to pursue her blossoming art career -- she'll never be out of our hearts! There for us when we need advice, moral support, or just a happy hour cocktail with a good friend, Brenda will always be an honorary GladRags team member.
