The Moon Cup & Moon Cup Kit

GladRags: The Moon Cup

GladRags: The Moon Cup

Brought to you by the manufacturer of the popular Keeper Menstrual Cup, The Moon Cup provides comfortable internal protection for women with latex sensitivities.

The Moon Cup Size A is designed for women who have given birth vaginally, while the Moon Cup Size B is meant for women who have NOT given birth vaginally.

The Moon Cup Menstrual Cup provides you with the same benefits as The Keeper, but is made of soft, non-latex, medical grade silicone. Introduced in 2006, The Moon Cup is innovative, economical, comfortable, and environment-friendly. This soft, silicone menstrual cup collects the flow rather than absorbing it, so the vaginal tissues aren't dried out as they can be with disposable tampons. The Moon Cup holds up to an ounce of fluid and should be emptied several times a day; simply rinse and reinsert. Detailed instructions come with your order. The Moon Cup can last up to ten years, saving you over $800 in disposable products!

Holy Cow!! I remember hearing about menstrual cups probably 5 years ago or so and thinking "that is so gross, are they serious?". I'm so glad I don't take myself too seriously and have grown up a bit. I saw someone I respect talk about a moon cup more recently and though, what the heck I'll give it a try. I ordered cup and a kit of glad rags pantyliners and overnight pad. I have had 2 cycles with the cup and gladrags and I don't know why the heck I didn't try them sooner. The cup is SOOOOOOO comfortable and so are the gladrags. The mooncup is not as messy or gross as I though. I feel so in touch with my body and I love to know exactly how heavy my flow is. I can sleep without leaking all over my sheets or worrying about TSS. I ride my horses with no problem, and use public restrooms with ease. No trying to uncrinckle the tampon/pad wrapper all quiet like. I feel empowered and comfortable when Aunt Flo comes to town and even feel like a have a feminine prowess being so in touch with my body and kind to the environment at the same time. Mooncup for the win!!!

I bought this product in the fall of 2011, so I've gone through a few cycles with it so far. I really love the fact that I can keep track of how much I menstruate. I also love that I have found an alternate to pads and tampons. Pads felt like diapers and for some odd reason, every time I used tampons my period stopped for a day or two (so long as I stopped using them), but then would come back. It happened every time I used a tampon so I HAD to switch to pads, and that was very uncomfortable. The moon cup is completely different. I can't feel it during the day, I don't have to go change it as often (depending on the day of course), my menstruation doesn't randomly stop from its use, and I don't have to wear those diapers ha ha! And it saves $$$! I will admit, my biggest concern with the mooncup was the cleaning and the consequences of using an internal device of that size. The cleaning has been quite simple and according to my boyfriend, I actually feel tighter. I'm very happy I took the chance to try this product. P.S. Buy it straight from the manufacturer, I bought it on EBay first, in hopes of finding a cheaper price, but the product seemed to already been opened. The top of the box was indented as if with the pressure of the thumb and the cup was covered in lint. Perhaps it was done to check the contents, regardless, very disturbing, so I returned it and bought it straight from here. The packaging was completely untampered with (and very environmentally friendly!) and the product was spotless. GladRags is as environmentally friendly as they get!

I love this product so much. I will never use pads or tampons again unless absolutely necessary! Great for traveling because you don't have to pack a whole bunch of supplies. Also wonderful that you can put it in before your period starts, if you know you're expecting it soon. You definitely can't do that with a tampon! But don't take my word for it, try it yourself! You'll be glad you did!

My 4 stars is partly because of capacity. I have a heavy flow, and hadn't realized that cups came in different sizes. Ladies, if you have had leaks with the Diva or Mooncup and have a heavy flow, try the Lunette. It has a wider "hoop skirt" profile, and enough capacity that I can even wear it overnight. Another tip: you can cut off the stem, but you'd want to do it incrementally, and it's generally more feasible to use a stemless cup if you have a little practice. The main reason not to trim the stem is because it generally voids any warranty you might have, so just be aware. Others turn the cup inside out as mentioned, and have great success. I have found that the tab stems (like Lunette) are more comfortable than the hollow stems (like Mooncup), even when trimmed.
