Description
Each Large Day Pad includes:
1 Holder (approximately 11" long and 3 3/8" wide)
2 Inserts (approximately 9" long and 2 7/8" wide)
GladRags holders are made out of comfortable cotton flannel fitted with a snap and “envelope” for the inserts. GladRags inserts consist of super-absorbent terry cloth and flannel for maximum protection.
GladRags Large Day Pads have a unique three part design which allows you to customize the absorbency of the pad according to your flow by choosing one or two inserts. You can even use the holder alone for an ultra-slim liner! This breathable all-cotton pad is so comfortable, you’ll wonder how you lived without it. GladRags are made to last for years, so you’ll save money and help the environment.
How to Use
To Use GladRags Washable Menstrual Pads:
1. Place 1 or 2 of the inserts inside the holder.
2. Turn your GladRag over. Snap it around your underwear. The tag side goes next to your underwear and the smooth side goes next to your body.
3. Change your GladRag (holder and inserts) about as often as you would change a disposable pad.
4. Follow care instructions for washing.
Cleaning & Care
After use, separate the inserts from the holder. Soak in cold water to help prevent staining. Adding an enzyme cleaner to the soaking water may help protext against staining. Machine wash and dry using natural soap or detergent; please do not use chlorine bleach. You may hand wash pads if desired. Remove pads from dryer promptly and store flat to eliminate wrinkling; use cool iron if desired. Store your pads in a clean, dry area.
When away from home, place your used pads in a GladRags Carry Bag or Wet Bag until you return home, then wash per care instructions.
FAQs
How do I use GladRags? Why the 3-part design?
Each GladRags Day or Night Pad consists of one holder and two inserts. To assemble, slip the inserts inside the holder, like a letter inside an envelope; then turn the pad over (so the smooth side goes against your body and the tag side against your underwear) and snap the "wings" of the holder around your underwear.
When you use both inserts, it is a maxi pad. When you use one, it's mini for lighter day. If you are having an extra heavy flow day, you can place a third insert in the holder for a super maxi. It is easy to get the pads clean because you take the inserts out for washing.
How absorbent are GladRags?
GladRags are very absorbent. The inserts are made with a layer of terry cloth sandwiched between the two outer layers of cotton flannel. The daytime holders are made of two layers of cotton flannel, and the inserts slip between each layer, like a letter inside an envelope. Each GladRags pad comes with 1 holder and 2 inserts, and you can opt to use as many as 3 inserts with a holder for your heavier days.
The night pad holders are wider at each end and longer than the day pad holder, and also constructed a bit differently: the holders also has a layer of terry cloth sandwiched between the two layers of flannel, making the GladRags night pad even more absorbent front to back for your sleeping comfort.
The pantyliners are shorter than the day pads and have absorbent terry cloth sandwiched between two layers of cotton flannel.
How many GladRags cloth pads do I need?
Menstrual cycles vary greatly from woman to woman. Most women use 6 to 12 day pads and 1 to 3 night pads and maybe supplement light days with pantyliners. It all depends on your flow and how often you do laundry. Change your GladRags as often as you would change a disposable, and remember: a pad consists of the holder and two inserts, and so you must change the whole thing, not just the inserts.

This work well for me!
By: Ducky from Houghton, MI US on August 25, 2012
"I really love the long organic day pads. I use them as back-up to my menstrual cup on heavy days & nights, and sometimes alone as day & night pads (also on heavy days). They're soft and I get no leakage. I much prefer them over the normal day pad and night pad. A+ ."
