To Use GladRags Washable Menstrual Pads:

2. Change your pantyliner about as often as you would change a disposable pantyliner.
3. Follow care instructions for washing.
Cleaning & Care
Soak in cold water to help prevent staining. Adding an enzyme cleaner to the soaking water may help protext against staining. Machine wash and dry using natural soap or detergent; please do not use chlorine bleach. You may hand wash pads if desired. Remove pads from dryer promptly and store flat to eliminate wrinkling; use cool iron if desired. Store your pads in a clean, dry area.
When away from home, place your used pads in a GladRags Carry Bag or Wet Bag until you return home, then wash per care instructions.
FAQs
Are GladRags comfortable?
Yes! All cotton GladRags are soft and breathable, which is so much better than plastic pads that can chafe and irritate your skin.
Our customer Nicole had this to say about trying GladRags:
“I just wanted to send you a line of appreciation. I love Glad Rags. I just started to use them. I cannot believe I waited this long! I am sold!! I am a lifer now. They are so comfortable and easy on my skin. I love how they feel like regular clothing. It is like nothing is there.”
If you are raw and irritated at the end of your period, please know that it does not have to be that way! With all of our pads you will experience the comfort and breatheability of cotton. The soft flannel conforms to your body without the twisting and bunching up that can happen with disposables. And because there is no plastic backing you will have less chafing and irritation. One of our customers reports they're much cooler too (she's from Phoenix, she would know).
Where are GladRags made?
GladRags are manufactured in Portland, Oregon, USA.
Sometimes people ask us why we don't manufacture in another country in order to lower our prices. We believe that keeping manufacturing local and within the United States is important to our economic security as a nation, and we like that we have full control over our facilities to ensure that GladRags are made in a safe environment where workers are treated fairly. Plus, keeping manufacturing local keeps our environmental footprint lower by reducing our shipping needs.
Do GladRags cost more than disposables?
No, they're actually much less expensive. When compared to the amount of money spent on disposables, it only takes a few years to make up the cost of your GladRags. They are made to last 5+ years. Many women tell us they still use the same pads they bought when we started in 1993! Think of this: it would be tremendously expensive (not to mention wasteful!) to continuously re-stock our kitchens with disposable paper plates, so we buy plates that we can use indefinitely. We make an initial investment into something reusable that will last a long time. It's the same idea with GladRags!

great product
By: flowerhead from Madison, WI US on October 12, 2012
"I love Glad Rags and consider myself one of the luckiest women to have found such a product. I had six of the daily light pads and then tried the organic panti-liners. I don't need to get into my health problems, but just to say I needed something and I am sensitive to the regular store brands. They are comfortable, soft, and durable. They organic panti-liners are smaller and thicker than the ones the others I have, but they are also more absorbent. I'm so thankful."

mini pads
By: disappointedgirl from piscataway, NJ US on March 14, 2013
"Having used the full size pads with liners for more than 15 years, I was looking forward to trying the mini pads. Unfortuneately they were not at all what I had hoped for. they curl and do not stay flat. they are not as comfortable as the larger pads. I would not order them again."

Organic but...
By: ColorfulComfortableWoman from Boston, MA US on March 2, 2013
"I have the liners in both the orangic undyed and in a standard color/pattern. I give the standard ones 5 stars and a super high recommendation. I ordered the organic undyed ones as I needed some white ones for when wearing light clothes. And they work for that and are absorbent. But...
They are SOOOO stiff. Even after several washing. They are more comfortable than disposable pads, but far less comfortable than the standard pads Gladrags offers. And they are bulky and hard to put on and take off. Finally, they curl so severely in the washer/dryer that they must e ironed after every washing in order to be wearable. If you need some white/light pads, get a few of these, but then get mostly standard ones for the rest of the time. "

These are great!
By: Reina from Santa Ana, CA US on January 29, 2013
"I am post menopausal with occasional incontinence (laughing or coughing) and these washable pads are perfect, keeping me dry for my 12 hour work day. I used to use the regular menstrual Glad Rags, but they were too big and bulky and these are the perfct size. I have 8 or 9 so that I can go the week and then wash. I dry them flat in the sun and they are dry in 24 hours. Thanks Glad Rags."

Natual is always best....
By: JanG_in_MO from Ava, MO US on December 16, 2012
"For over two years, I battled an on-going UTI that just wouldn't go away. Since I'm of the age that a sneeze, laugh, or cough, releases just enough urine to be concerned with, I had to use Pantyliners every day. Then I decided to try Gladrags. Since I began using them, I have finally ended the battle with the chronic UTI, and kept it at bay. My doctor told me "Cotton is always better than the store brand liners that hold in so much moisture." They are a bit pricey; but considering the quality of the product, it is worth every penny to me. Thank you Gladrags for these products... and keeping them made in the USA!"

Healthy Alternative... Thank you!
By: JanG_inMO from Ava, MO US on January 31, 2013
"I have battled an on-going UTI for more than three years. Being over 60 years old, I frequently have leakage, so I was wearing disposable pads every day. Since I have found Glad Rags, the UTI has cleared up. My doctor agreed that cotton was better than any artificial product. Thank you for providing this product. My body thanks you."
