Think cloth pads can't handle heavy flow? Think again! This kit includes a selection of our favorite pads for those of us with a heavier cycle. The Heavy Flow Kit is a great choice for postpartum or for plus-size women.
The Heavy Flow Kit includes:
These pads are really comfortable and are quickly becoming my go-to for warm weather. The smaller pads are great as a pantyliner for everyday use and the heavy ones protect me overnight when I have a heavy flow. I would highly recommend this kit as it gives you a great idea of what you would need to build your stash. I never thought I'd be using reusables, but now I only regret that I hadn't tried them out before now!
The heavy flow kit w/bag & perfect size comfy fitting (not over-bulging) when you wear- glad rags pads are great idea for anemic ppl like me or who have trouble days at the starting. I tend to have a very rough first 2days. THEN IM able to go back 2my regular glads. This comes in handy & IS worth it, &if u feel ur missing anything, I took advantage- jumped on many good deals 4 extra pads N extra holders 4 cheap costs! I wish Id discovered these as a preteen years ago!! But Im very happy with everything, & hope by end of Dec2012 to work up to having all my few :) of what I call just at least MY ESSENTIALS to get by & no problems or extra trouble and its simple if u start w/this item! Just buy a few xtra for clearance and thats it! Its easy! Not to mention all the cute designs offered here that you can either mix or match, are designs are stylish, cool & some great solid dark colors, so unique! ALSO Have fun trying to choose em lol! Thats the best! Took me an hour haha!
I just purchased a heavy flow kit, and it worked really well for me. The longer pads worked perfectly for overnights and heavy days. The material is soft and breathable, and I can tell that it will be comfortable in the warm months of the year. I felt secure using my Gladrags knowing that there was no way that I was going to have leaks. It was a great introduction to cloth pads! I also liked that I could customize the pads with the inserts; I was able to use the smaller pads for my light and medium days. Highly recommend these pads! :) I only wish I had known about cloth pads about 15 years ago! Thanks Gladrags, keep up the great work.
First the downside: It is an adjustment (or it was for me) wearing cloth pads. It was hard to figure out how much absorbancy I needed & it feels a bit different. The bulk takes some getting used to as well. Now the awesomeness: All cotton, soft, no sticky nastiness. These stayed in place for me, even biking. The fit is awesome & even though it took a bit to figure out the absorbancy I needed I never once leaked! Super easy to take care of. These have made me love my period. I am petite & these fit me better than Luna Pads, though I think both are quality pads -- Much better than most of the stuff you can find on Etsy, which typically are NOT all cotton -- If breathability is important, than all cotton is a MUST!
My period was so heavy that I'd wear a Super Plus tampon at night with a Depends. Seriously. And those Depends start to chafe and the elastic that holds them safely in place gets uncomfortable. So with the extreme softness of the night pads, I can toss and turn, and nothing chafes. I use the cup and the heavy pads at night and I'm so comfortable. During the heat/sweat of the day, NO chafing! Finally!!! A solution, finally!!!!
For those of you who classify your period as heavy flow at any point during your cycle, do not, I repeat, DO NOT buy the regular day pads. Get the larger ones. The overnight was good though.
I was very excited to use them and once I did...I couldn't believe how much better they were than what I was using...glad to be saving my environment and that my body doesn't have plastic rubbing against my lady business. Empower yourself ladies!
I used my first set of glad rags ten years ago and a few are just now starting to wear out. I purchased a heavy duty kit and am so thankful to replace a few pads but not have to blow by budget to do so. Thank you!
I was nervous about trying reusable pads. Not because of ick, I was worried I would bleed through the pad and make a terrible mess. This kit was a good way to try the different products (I already had some pantyliners I LOVE!) and decide if it was right for me. I am now in LOVE! with the whole line. The cotton pads are luxurious compared to the plastic ones. They are easy to clean and use. very little muss and almost no fuss!
These are so much more comfortable than traditional pads. They work great as well. I had some small spotting during a very heavy cycle, but I've had the same with a standard pad and the comfort of these far exceeds the comfort of your typical pad.
