How to Use
To Use GladRags Washable Menstrual Pads:
1. Place 1 or 2 of the inserts inside the holder. Pantyliners do not have inserts.
2. Turn your GladRag over. Snap it around your underwear. The tag side goes next to your underwear and the smooth side goes next to your body.
3. Change your GladRag (holder and inserts) about as often as you would change a disposable pad.
4. Follow care instructions for washing.
Cleaning & Care
After use, separate the inserts from the holder. Soak in cold water to help prevent staining. Adding an enzyme cleaner to the soaking water may help protext against staining. Machine wash and dry using natural soap or detergent; please do not use chlorine bleach. You may hand wash pads if desired. Remove pads from dryer promptly and store flat to eliminate wrinkling; use cool iron if desired. Store your pads in a clean, dry area.
When away from home, place your used pads in a GladRags Carry Bag or Wet Bag until you return home, then wash per care instructions.
FAQs
How often do I change a GladRags cloth pad?
You should change your pad about as often as you would change a disposable pad or tampon: every 2 to 6 hours, or as needed. You will quickly learn when it's time to change. Unsnap, and snap on a fresh pad. Remember, the inserts go inside the holder so you need to change the whole unit. Place the used pads in the waterproof Carry Bag if you are away from home and then wash when you get home.
Are GladRags comfortable?
Yes! All cotton GladRags are soft and breathable, which is so much better than plastic pads that can chafe and irritate your skin.
Our customer Nicole had this to say about trying GladRags:
“I just wanted to send you a line of appreciation. I love Glad Rags. I just started to use them. I cannot believe I waited this long! I am sold!! I am a lifer now. They are so comfortable and easy on my skin. I love how they feel like regular clothing. It is like nothing is there.”
If you are raw and irritated at the end of your period, please know that it does not have to be that way! With all of our pads you will experience the comfort and breatheability of cotton. The soft flannel conforms to your body without the twisting and bunching up that can happen with disposables. And because there is no plastic backing you will have less chafing and irritation. One of our customers reports they're much cooler too (she's from Phoenix, she would know).
Will they leak?
GladRags are designed to be comfortable and absorbent. The flaps that snap around your underwear act as wings to protect the sides of your panties. However, GladRags can leak if left unchanged for too long, just as disposable pads will if they become too saturated.

My Daughter's First Time
By: rolowill from Athens, TX US on June 22, 2012
"When my daughter was in diapers we deciced then we would use natural pads when it was her time (She suffered miserably w/irratation).
Two years before her cycle started, (age 8) I discussed with her all about her cycle, what it means, why it happens etc. A year ago we purchased two pantyliners and 3 day kits and a mesh bag for washing. She always kept them in her 'underwear drawer'. 2 weeks to the day of her turning 11 she started.
She did not tell me, I ran across her soiled panties, I then asked her. No she wasn't scared nor embarrassed, I had prepared her well in advance.
I bought all her products at Sprouts, it was very difficult to find what we needed at the stores (I had to drive to two stores-each on the other side of town)just to get what I did get.
She likes that they are smooth, don't bunch or pull hair-being HFAutistic her senses run high, she can't wait for her supplies to come in.
I am now ordering more supplies and night time supplies.
Thank you GladRags"
