Inserts will fit both the Day and Night Pads. Price is per insert. Inserts are approximately 7.5" long.
GladRags Day Pads have a unique three part design which allows you to customize the absorbency of the pad according to your flow by choosing one or two inserts. You can even use the holder alone for an ultra-slim liner! This breathable all-cotton pad is so comfortable, you’ll wonder how you lived without it. GladRags are made to last for years, so you’ll save money and help the environment.
GladRags Night Pads have an additional layer of ultra-absorbent terrycloth, plus extra coverage in the front and back. Wear this breathable, all-cotton pad at night while you sleep, on heavy flow days, or during postpartum for the ultimate in leak protection.
How to Use
To Use GladRags Washable Menstrual Pads:
1. Place 1 or 2 of the inserts inside the holder.
2. Turn your GladRag over. Snap it around your underwear. The tag side goes next to your underwear and the smooth side goes next to your body.
3. Change your GladRag (holder and inserts) about as often as you would change a disposable pad.
4. Follow care instructions for washing.
Cleaning & Care
After use, separate the inserts from the holder. Soak in cold water to help prevent staining. Adding an enzyme cleaner to the soaking water may help protext against staining. Machine wash and dry using natural soap or detergent; please do not use chlorine bleach. You may hand wash pads if desired. Remove pads from dryer promptly and store flat to eliminate wrinkling; use cool iron if desired. Store your pads in a clean, dry area.
When away from home, place your used pads in a GladRags Carry Bag or Wet Bag until you return home, then wash per care instructions.
How do I use GladRags? Why the 3-part design?
Each GladRags Day or Night Pad consists of one holder and two inserts. To assemble, slip the inserts inside the holder, like a letter inside an envelope; then turn the pad over (so the smooth side goes against your body and the tag side against your underwear) and snap the "wings" of the holder around your underwear.
When you use both inserts, it is a maxi pad. When you use one, it's mini for lighter day. If you are having an extra heavy flow day, you can place a third insert in the holder for a super maxi. It is easy to get the pads clean because you take the inserts out for washing.
How absorbent are GladRags?
GladRags are very absorbent. The inserts are made with a layer of terry cloth sandwiched between the two outer layers of cotton flannel. The daytime holders are made of two layers of cotton flannel, and the inserts slip between each layer, like a letter inside an envelope. Each GladRags pad comes with 1 holder and 2 inserts, and you can opt to use as many as 3 inserts with a holder for your heavier days.
The night pad holders are wider at each end and longer than the day pad holder, and also constructed a bit differently: the holders also has a layer of terry cloth sandwiched between the two layers of flannel, making the GladRags night pad even more absorbent front to back for your sleeping comfort.
The pantyliners are shorter than the day pads and have absorbent terry cloth sandwiched between two layers of cotton flannel.
How many GladRags cloth pads do I need?
Menstrual cycles vary greatly from woman to woman. Most women use 6 to 12 day pads and 1 to 3 night pads and maybe supplement light days with pantyliners. It all depends on your flow and how often you do laundry. Change your GladRags as often as you would change a disposable, and remember: a pad consists of the holder and two inserts, and so you must change the whole thing, not just the inserts.

Part of my very first GladRags dot com order, was very pleased with them too! :)

"For my very first order on gladrags dot com website, these were one of the first item(s) that I selected along with an overnight pad which fits snugly and doesnt move around while you are sleeping, leaving you wondering what you will wake up to in the morning worrying! Id like to add that all the pad products Ive used (havent tried cups yet but will soon) since a few months ago all fit snug and yet are not one bit bulky nor uncomfortable even when wearing them jogging during the 90 degree summer heat. Ultra comfortable and ultra protection is a definite when I use these as back up and the others I ordered too. I also ADORE the ton of different styles/designs they give you to choose from, I had trouble picking out which 2 or 3 I wanted the most LOL no joke! Id say by the end of the year Ill have em all though! :)"
