Each Day Pad includes:
1 Holder (approximately 9" long and 2 1/2" wide)
GladRags holders are made out of comfortable cotton flannel fitted with a snap and “envelope” for the inserts. GladRags inserts consist of super-absorbent terry cloth and flannel for maximum protection.
GladRags Day Pads have a unique three part design which allows you to customize the absorbency of the pad according to your flow by choosing one or two inserts. You can even use the holder alone for an ultra-slim liner! This breathable all-cotton pad is so comfortable, you’ll wonder how you lived without it. GladRags are made to last for years, so you’ll save money and help the environment.
How to Use
To Use GladRags Washable Menstrual Pads:
1. Place 1 or 2 of the inserts inside the holder.
2. Turn your GladRag over. Snap it around your underwear. The tag side goes next to your underwear and the smooth side goes next to your body.
3. Change your GladRag (holder and inserts) about as often as you would change a disposable pad.
4. Follow care instructions for washing.
Cleaning & Care
After use, separate the inserts from the holder. Soak in cold water to help prevent staining. Adding an enzyme cleaner to the soaking water may help protext against staining. Machine wash cold and tumble dry low using natural soap or detergent; please do not use chlorine bleach. You may hand wash pads if desired. Remove pads from dryer promptly and store flat to eliminate wrinkling; use cool iron if desired. Store your pads in a clean, dry area.
When away from home, place your used pads in a GladRags Carry Bag or Wet Bag until you return home, then wash per care instructions.
Cotton flannel, cotton terrycloth, organic cotton care label, nickel-free snap.
How do I use GladRags? Why the 3-part design?
Each GladRags Day or Night Pad consists of one holder and two inserts. To assemble, slip the inserts inside the holder, like a letter inside an envelope; then turn the pad over (so the smooth side goes against your body and the tag side against your underwear) and snap the "wings" of the holder around your underwear.
When you use both inserts, it is a maxi pad. When you use one, it's mini for lighter day. If you are having an extra heavy flow day, you can place a third insert in the holder for a super maxi. It is easy to get the pads clean because you take the inserts out for washing.
How absorbent are GladRags?
GladRags are very absorbent. The inserts are made with a layer of terry cloth sandwiched between the two outer layers of cotton flannel. The daytime holders are made of two layers of cotton flannel, and the inserts slip between each layer, like a letter inside an envelope. Each GladRags pad comes with 1 holder and 2 inserts, and you can opt to use as many as 3 inserts with a holder for your heavier days.
The night pad holders are wider at each end and longer than the day pad holder, and also constructed a bit differently: the holders also has a layer of terry cloth sandwiched between the two layers of flannel, making the GladRags night pad even more absorbent front to back for your sleeping comfort.
The pantyliners are shorter than the day pads and have absorbent terry cloth sandwiched between two layers of cotton flannel.
How many GladRags cloth pads do I need?
Menstrual cycles vary greatly from woman to woman. Most women use 6 to 12 day pads and 1 to 3 night pads and maybe supplement light days with pantyliners. It all depends on your flow and how often you do laundry. Change your GladRags as often as you would change a disposable, and remember: a pad consists of the holder and two inserts, and so you must change the whole thing, not just the inserts.

14 Years & Counting!
By: Forever User from Portland, OR US on August 24, 2012
"I have been using GladRags exclusively for about 14 years now. I love them! I STILL have the original ones I bought way back then (they really hold up well) and occasionally I order new ones just for fun. If you are on the fence about these or are just not sure if reusable is a good idea, please try them just once! You will be hooked. I can't imagine how I ever used those horrible, smelly, plastic disposable pads before."

"A friend told me about her GladRags, and I am so glad she did. This product is very easy to use, absorbs like it describes, and washes/dries nicely. If you have an incredibly heavy flow with weird clotting or are a bigger woman (all these describe me), then I'd recommend that you get the overnights to use during your heaviest days Otherwise, these worked perfectly fine!"

"I love this product! It has changed my life...I discovered glad rags 3 or 4 years ago and use them every day ...thank you for providing an alternative product (that is cotton )to the disposable pads and pantyliners!!!! I tell all the girls I meet to get them!"
what a difference
By: widdybit from West Palm Beach, FL US on September 28, 2012
"These are wonderful pads. You can tell they are more on the homemade side due to them not all being identical. They are soft and I love the designs. They are construced well so no worries there. I will defnitely say this is an investment. I'm going to slowly build my supply because times are tough and these aren't cheap. If I had the money I'd buy seven days worth of pantiliners, five regular and overnight pads. "
VERY GOOD PURCHASE

"SEARCHING FOR PERSONAL HYGIENE ITEMS THAT WERE BOTH LIGHT WEIGHT AND REUSABLE, WAS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE. THIS PRODUCT IS AN EXCELLENT CHOICE FOR BOTH OUR BUG-OUT-BAGS AND REGULAR MONTHLY USE. OTHER REVIEWS MAY INDICATE TOO SMALL HOWEVER, WHEN COMPAIRED TO THE DISPOSABLE "NORMAL FLOW" PADS, THEY ARE THE SAME SIZE. I LOOK FORWARD TO ORDERING A WHOLE KIT IN THE NEAR FUTURE"

"I've been using your products since I was about 16 (I'm now 25), I love the reusable pads and would never want to go back to disposables. Way more comfortable, affordable, and environmentally friendly. Keep up the good work! :-)"
