Say hello to XO Flo! With proper care and use, your XO Flo can last for years of period protection that's better for your body and the environment.
XO Flo is a soft, internally-worn reusable menstrual cup made with body-safe medical grade silicone. XO Flo collects (rather than absorbs) monthly menstrual flow. Your XO Flo may remain in the body for up to 12 hours at a time, unlike a tampon which must be changed more frequently.
When removing the XO Flo, grip the stem as high as possible, as the smallest bead is there to help you locate your XO Flo, but is not designed to be tugged.
What makes XO Flo different?
Should I get the XO Flo or XO Flo Mini?
I've been using cups for 10 years now. I used to think down on people who couldn't figure out cups. This cup has been my sysiphean boulder, and my vagina is the mountain. The first problem is how uncomfortable it is . As soon as I put it in, it feels like the beginning of a UTI. When I ride my bike it's like there's a potato in my butt. Next, I can't stop it leaking. I pulled it out four times today because I'd leaked enough I was sure the cup was overfilled. Each time there was just a teaspoon of blood. When I take it out, I have to put it in and back out several times because I can't get it to pop open. When I can't tell if it's open, I shove a finger up there, which pops it back in. The final straw was tonight, on my fourth switch-out of the day. I put my fingers up and felt, on the outside of the cup, my cervix. I'm sleeping wrapped in a towel tonight and I'm sewing up an army of cloth pads tomorrow. GladRags, if you've got an old MoonCup stashed away, I'd love to have it.
I have to say that even though I have not given birth, but the sheer fact that my flows are greater than the hoover dam the first few days, is what makes this purchase a great one. Granted its only good for the first couple days after that it becomes harder to insert so Ill have to switch to the mini. (Honestly this is my second buy as i accidentally fried my first one in boiling water to sanitize it. It be nice if there was an actual brand of soap to clean said cups in without paying close attention to the stove like its a timebomb.)
