Should I get the XO Flo or XO Flo Mini?
Generally those with heavier flow, higher cervix and those who have given birth will prefer the original XO Flo. The XO Flo Mini may be best suited for lighter flow, low cervix, a sensitive bladder, or those who haven’t given birth. Whether or not you've tried menstrual cups before, we’d be happy to point you in the best direction based on your individual needs. Simply contact us for assistance!
I have been happily using Glad Rags for a few years, and a Keeper Moon Cup for almost 10. I have tried the XO FLO for a few cycles, and it is sadly not for me. I would love to try a slimmer version in the future! PROS -- The overall design is very beautiful. - The beaded stem is soft, flexible, and easy to trim. CONS -- The cup is too wide for me. The Keeper is much slimmer/more oblong. The XO Flo creates an uncomfortable pressure. (The fluid capacity is not an issue for me.) It's also hard to grasp the wide base of the cup. - The XO Flo sits very low in my body so the stem sticks out and is very painful, even after trimming to one bead. - Frequently the XO Flo cup will not "pop" open, using the X or O side, so I'll have to take it out multiple times to try to reinsert it so that it will pop open. This can get messy and painful. Additionally, since the cup is so wide, it's hard to feel and adjust to see if the cup has popped open.
I’m happy I gave this a try. It took 2 cycles for me to figure out how to fit the XO Flo without leaking but now that I am not over thinking it, it works great! The pads are so soft and comfortable. I don’t feel like I’m wearing a diaper like I did with disposables. The pads wash and dry well. I wash them the way it is recommended to wash cloth diapers. I use a rinse cycle and then a normal wash. We have very hard water so I use calgon and tide. Dry with a wool dryer ball. The wet bag is cute. I haven’t used the stain stick yet. Overall, very glad I made this purchase and getting ready to purchase a few more pads.
