Introducing XO Flo Mini! With proper care and use, your XO Flo Mini will bring you years of period protection that's better for your body and the environment.
XO Flo Mini is a flexible, internally-worn reusable menstrual cup made with body-safe medical grade silicone. XO Flo Mini collects (rather than absorbs) monthly menstrual flow. Your XO Flo Mini may remain in the body for up to 12 hours at a time, unlike a tampon which must be changed more frequently.
What makes XO Flo Mini different?
Should I get the XO Flo or XO Flo Mini?
I got the original XO Flo after seeing it reviewed online. The thick external rims of other cups are often painful for me during removal, so the totally smooth exterior sounded like the answer to my problem. I was SO disappointed when it turned out to be just too big for my comfort (I'm unable to completely empty my bladder while wearing it, for instance). When I saw the XO Flo Mini kickstarter, I signed up immediately. Now that my Mini has finally arrived, I'm VERY very very happy to find that is it just perfect for me. I did end up trimming the third bead/stem section off, but that's it.
I originally had the XO-flo as my first cup product from glad rags. XO-flo was an improvement from tampons! Especially on heavy days! However I won't lie when I needed to use it on light days it sorta got...stuck! Which is why when I heard about the kickstarter for this little beauty I knew I couldn't miss out! It got launched and came to me in the knick of time this month. I was super happy to try it! I gotta say it really works a wonder like it's older sister model, and personally i think it's also a very good beginner model for anyone still nervous to try the normal XO-flo if your concerned about size and all. Not to mention the packaging is super cute!
This product works exactly as needed. I tried it for the first time during my last cycle and was very happy with the results: its easy to insert and worked like a charm with no leaks. I donated my last box of tampons. So glad I bought one.
I've used the same "The Keeper" cup for 5 years and loved it, but it was uncomfortable to remove with the thick top ring. I backed the kickstarter for the XO Flo Mini because I love Gladrags pads and think the company is great. I used the XO Flo Mini for 2 days before one of the stem beads popped off while removing it. The next day, another stem bead popped off leaving just a tiny bit of stem left, making it unuseable for me. They were super about replacing it right away and sent me a new one, but on the first day of using the new one both of the two bottom stem beads popped off again! It's such a bummer because the cup is extraordinarily comfortable and doesn't leak at all---it is way better than my previous cup in those regards. Maybe I've just got strong muscles and this wouldn't be a problem for others, but I wonder if its not a design flaw with having the stem beads on a thin stem? I hope they'll update the stem in the future. It's a great design otherwise!
I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable the XO mini is. Like, SUPER comfortable. I pretty instantaneously felt empowered using it, too. (At first I felt a little panicky that I wouldn't be able to get it out, but then I remembered, "Oh yeah, remember your vagina is a rockstar, Megan, and can move things. Work together." And then it was no problem.) The XO mini feels right for me – physically, economically, environmentally, emotionally. I work in an office of two, so I really appreciate not having to worry about things during the day. I'm quickly getting the hang of emptying and cleaning -- even in public places when I need to. Would highly recommend!
I was a little worried about trying out my first cup, but I’m so glad I included it in my purchase of pads! I’m not sure if I just got lucky, but after reading the instructional booklet it came with I popped it in when my next cycle started and it was perfect! I didn’t feel it at all. I have IC and was pretty sure I was going to feel some discomfort. I am amazed and super happy to say I felt no pain. I wore it for about 4 days (obviously washing with soap and water twice a day when I removed it) and only on the last day did I feel some discomfort around hour 8 (i’m pretty sure I just placed it a bit askew.) I have to say it is an amazing feeling to have your period and create ZERO waste to go sit in the landfill for all eternity. Please try it out and tell your friends!
very comfortable, extremely practical, leak tight and most environmentally friendly possible. discovering the pads changed my attitude towards periods to positive and self afirming. xo flo mini is changing my movement: I feel completely free and can do most stuff as if I did not have my period because it is so comfortable and effective. huge thank you to gladrags!!
This cup is a comfortable fit for the most part; the smooth outside makes it easy to insert, but the rounded bottom can make it tricky to grip in order to break the seal and remove. Not a deal-breaker, but it made the first few uses a little nerve-wracking. It's definitely more comfortable than the Diva Cup, as the stem is shorter and more flexible, and the streamlined design makes it easier to clean. Overall, a great purchase.
I have tried many cups, but really the XO Flo mini was the one that worked for me. I experienced no leaks and only had to trim the stem partially. This cup is a great material and shape and I don't think I will be needing any other!
I got this because my old cup had really thick ridges around the outside and it was difficult/uncomfortable to put in and take out. I did struggle a little bit at first with putting it in because it would not pop open fully before getting to its resting place, so it would be, like, folded in half but all the way up and it gets stuck on one side of my cervix (is that TMI?). I have adjusted to this tendency and now have a method that works for inserting without getting it stuck to the side. I do sometimes have to let it pop open low then push the open cup up to where it belongs, but doing this is relatively not uncomfortable because of the smooth outside. It also holds plenty (I wear it from wake-up to bedtime, then from bedtime to wake-up most days with no trouble) and makes it so I don't have to worry about bleeding all over all of my clothes all the time.
