When my cousin first told me about these, I was pretty skeptical. It seemed so ... unhygienic. But then I realized that when I had a leak during my period, I didn't throw my underwear away. I soaked it, washed it, and wore it again. This is no different. To make Glad Rags work for you, you will need a system to deal with the used pads. For me, that meant having a place that wasn't my bathroom sink to soak the pads in until it was time to do laundry. I purchased an enamel soaking pot, some BioKleen Bac-Out Stain Remover, and two mesh laundry bags, and I was ready to go. So what do I think of them? 1) Oh so comfortable. 2) Where’d that nasty smell go? Instead of a heap of stinky trash, all I have is some terry cloth soaking in lime-scented water. 3) Easy to use away from home. 4) Leaks are an issue. But disposables leaked on me all the time too. 5) As long as I rinse before soaking, they really won't stain.
I am over 55 years old and have a slight incontinence problem. The large day pads are great for everyday wear. They work great and do not cause the irritation problems I was having with disposable pads. I wish I had know about these when I was younger.
The regular length gladrags are too short for the heavier days of my cycle. I have enjoyed the organic long day pads, but they are a little pricey for my budget so I only had a few. When regular cotton came out I had to try it. Its pretty nice, but the organic cotton pads seem sturdier and more aborbant, which I already knew. It should work great (although I haven't tried it as I just found out I'm pregnant). My regular length conventional cotton pads have held up really nicely over the years and I am sure this one will as well.
I've been wearing GladRags for a couple of years now and I LOVE THEM! I wish i had made the switch from the wasteful, processed, itchy plastic rub years ago. Gladrags feel like a cozy blanket and i love that they will last me years (I definitely more recommend the Organic cotton as it feels more durable (+ organic is always good to support), though the patterns on the non-organic are pretty cute and less obviously stained). And contrast to what some may think, I kind of enjoy cleaning them by hand. It feels like i'm more in touch w my period instead of grossed out by it. Then again i am a hippiepunk ha. THIS purchase was actually for my girlfriend who is now also a convert and is already browsing the site to get more! Try these out and you'll never have to buy one-use pads again...now THOSE are gross. It's a savings for you and the environment. Spread the word!
I wish I would have started out with these. They are the perfect size for me. I'll be stocking up on more of this size in the future.
I own several regular size, large, and overnight pads, and while they each serve a good purpose, these are my favorite! I tend to have a moderate/heavy flow. I use the regular for light days, and these are just right for all other days. The length is exactly what I need. And as always, comfy and cute!

22 and I have urinary incontinence after childbirth. I got embarrassed buying incontinence products at the store. I usually just need up buying disposable menstrual pads. I bought one just to try it out. I like it, just bought more.
I have used glad rags in the past and I bought new ones and find that these are updated in that they are a bit longer, which is great. I find cloth pads to be so much more comfortable, breathable, and I just feel cleaner. I bought a couple of sets in dark green, so the period stains barely show and are less offensive when my husband is doing the laundry :)/ Sometimes for a light flow I even just put the inserts in my panties, rather than snapping it in and they generally stay in place.
I'm allergic to most disposable feminine hygiene products. For the first time ever, my period is actually not totally horrible. I have no itching, rashing or other irritated parts. I just placed another order so I have more pads on hand. This is a fantastic product.
