I am in the process of transitioning to zero waste periods, so this review is from someone still finding their way in what works best. For context, I prefer period undies and wear these for the duration of my period, but need extra coverage for 1-2 days when my period is heaviest. I have quite a heavy period and am a teacher, so I need something with a lot of oomph that I can rely on for a few (or several) hours at a time. Also, I am small both in clothing size and height.

The day pad PLUS is the 3rd gladrags daytime product I have tried in my process of finding what works for me. The panty liner freebie was a wonderful gift and is handy to carry as a backup in my bag, but as I mentioned, my period is heavy so it is practically useless to me on most days. I then tried the regular day pad, and while I was impressed by the absorbency with 2 inserts, I found the length of the pad to be insufficient.

Feeling hopeful, I decided to buy a daypad plus, and I'm glad I did! Having just that little bit of extra coverage really does improve this pad. I'd say this pad is closer to the same size of a regular size disposable pad (maybe just a tad smaller) and has at least as much if not slightly more absorbency. With a thin pair of period undies, the daypad plus is quite comfortable and I have not had any issues with it wiggling around either. With the thicker undies I wear during the rest of my period, it can be a bit uncomfortable, but even then it isn't unbearable (like getting the adhesive of a disposable pad stuck to your leg all day was :(). I do somewhat consistently get "leaks" around the very edges of the wings, but this is something that happens with period undies, too, and like period undies the material is absorbent enough that I have not actually leaked through to my pants or beyond. These are relatively easy to clean (I rinse 3 times, hand wash, then dry) and I have become unexpectedly fond of the colorful patterns. I will be buying a few more of these to properly last me through my period without constant laundry.

I'm currently using the plus pads since I have a heavier flow. It takes a bit to get used to after disposable pads, but there are great, subtle features - two liners provided make it customizable depending on period heaviness and since the wings nor the pad are adhesive, it can be (privately!) adjusted to more accurate and fit more comfortably. I bought the plus pads which are bigger than I thought, but I've read reviews that they shrink down in the wash. Still, I am going to invest in a few of the day pads and pantyliners. Thank you, Gladrags, for creating such a body- and environmentally-conscious product. I wish I'd know about this years ago!

I'm personally a big fan of these. When I went to college, I got one of Gladrag's free pantyliners, and I think I've been hooked since. I definitely need to buy more, but I'm glad I have the one I do. It has saved me so much money from buying traditional pads and tampons. Anyways, happy birthday Gladrags! :-D

The plus pad is awesome on my heavy-flow days. Its nice to have the option to make it less bulky by taking out one of the inserts as well. It's comfortable too! And I bought one that helped out a good cause. A win-win :)

Good coverage, good absorption. No stickiness, no swampiness.

Just went through my first period with my glad rags and they were very comfortable, easy to use and washed great. Way more comfortable than a regular pad. They didn’t stick to my skin.

These pads are nice. I like the little pocket for adding additional liners. I especially love that this company doesn't use plastic liners and junk that won't biodegrade.
The only issue I have with the product is that my butt tends to munch up the end of the pad during the day... which requires many many wedgie recovery missions. I am not sure if I need a bigger pad or if something should be added to the caboose to assist in its ability to repel the caverns of buttocks.
I have only had one reusable pad that didn't slide into my crevice, but unfortunately that woman stopped making pads... and she left without revealing her secrets for the female orifices.
I would rate five stars if it wasn't for the constant sensation that my bum got peckish and took too large a bite.

Really wanted to try out something reusable, I have a pretty light flow and almost exclusively use pantyliners. The thickness was expected for me, thinner then some pads but thicker then a typical pantyliner. However the "wings" are extremely long, after snapped together the wings hung down inches below my crotch. This was uncomfortable rubbing between my thighs, and it created way too much space for movement and bawling up, and definitely had diper feeling vibes! Yikes! The wadding up even led to leakage and spotting on my pants for the first time since I was a teenager! I ended up cutting out about 1/2 inch slice off each side and resewing the snaps back on to make it more fitted. After doing this, it is WAY more comfortable, they stay in place and don't wad up. 1 lasts all day for me, it does have great coverage and absorption once I tailored it down, I just would prefer to buy something that doesn't require so much extra work to be put in for proper use. Next time I'll just make my own...

I have been using gladrags for over 20 years! I absolutely love them. They are so much more comfortable and absorbent than disposable pads and care is easy once you get your system down. One suggestion: the newer flannel on the gladrags shrinks, so I suggest buying the plus size. They seem large at first, but they shrink with each wash and size themselves down eventually to the size of the regular pads brand new (or the old gladrags, whose flannel did not seem to shrink).

I tried these for the first time at age 49. They are wonderfully comfortable and cause much less discomfort than the disposables. However, during heavy days I still have to use a backup disposable because the cloth only lasts an hour or less. To be fair, I am talking about extremely heavy...menopause, please get here!!! I wish I'd found these years ago and definitely recommend them for all but the heaviest days.

I started using GladRags about 15 years ago. Once my first batch wore out, I just slipped back into using disposables again. But with the advent of perimenopause, I found myself using more and more and was less and less comfortable with the amount of plastic and waste I was generating. So I ordered a batch of new glad rags.
These are the perfect size for day use. They are soft and don't make the crinkly sound of disposables. Neither do they gum up my undies with leftover adhesive. Easy to clean. Glad I started using them again.

They're comfortable, cleaner and work well

Full coverage, I like this one better than the overnight pad. I can also where it during the day, during a heavy flow without it feeling awkward. I am a medium sized woman, 5'4, 140 lbs.

These pads are very comfortable and help reduce plastic waste, so I feel good physically and mentally. The organic pads are a bit tougher and actually make me feel awkward walking, so I actually prefer the regular cotton ones. I like how there is space to put both insert in for heavy flow day and you can still walk around without feeling that your pad is too thick. One thing to be mindful about GladRags products in general is that they have ring snapped button, which is not so durable. One of my pad's button ring just popped off after about 8 months. I think that this is just a one-time one faulty product because this has not happened to my other pads.

I truly love this product. The extra inserts are a nice touch case. The only downside is that it's big. I'm new to cups and cloth. On the Always pads, it seems I'm bleeding to death. With the cup, I realize that is not the case. I will order the small. However, I love how it feels on me.

I've been using GladRags since I was 25 years old, and now I am 45, so, that's a long time. I first turned to them for two reasons: 1) my skin was irritated by the stuff in disposable pads and 2) I was looking for a product I could use if stationed in a remote Peace Corps location (disposables can't be replenished, and the product would need to be washed and ironed with a HOT iron to kill parasites found in wash water). These were a perfect match for where I thought I was headed (Africa) and though I did not end up there they were such a perfect match for my sensitive skin I have used them ever since. Management: I keep a pretty, cloth, drawstring bag next to where I change my pads during the day, and I deposit each one as I remove it. They sit in that lovely bag in a drawer until the end of the week, at which point I soak them all for a few hours. Then I wash in the washing machine. I don't care about stains, as long as
they feel and smell fresh they are clean.

These pads work wayyy better if you have a heavier flow, and they are always so cute! I never worry about leaking through with these even on my most heavy days.

I've been using GladRags for 15+ years. I was very excited by the addition of the Day Pad Plus sized pad ( years ago). These give nice coverage for larger bodies and/or those with heavier flow. They reduce my risk of over bleeding when flow is heavy but are less cumbersome than the night pads for use during the day. When flow isn't heavy, the holder is a more comfortable fit for my larger body than the regular day pad.

I have had no yeast infections since switching to the cloth pads. I used to have three or four a year when I was using the disposable pads. I have a feeling it was because they wouldn't let my pubic area breathe during my period. It was itchy and painful and miserable. The cotton in the daypads lets my pubic area breathe and keeps me dry and comfortable.

First time trying the reusable cloth day pads. I fell in love. Best product ever!! Wished I had found out about them sooner!

Great product! I bought these for the embarrassing pee problem during workouts. I had bought some underwear for the same reason but there was not enough padding in the right place. Gladrags allow me to layer as necessary and where I need it most. And they're reusable!

I love the yellow pattern, and it’s really nice to have something happy to look at to lift my spirits at that time of the month. However my first experience with it wasn’t great. I don’t have a very heavy flow so I went with only one filler pad, but I blew through it and made quite a mess of my underwear. I was traveling and didn’t have a storage solution set up, and there weren’t a lot of organic or natural options available where I was (airport and airport hotel), so overall it was a messy and frustrating first experience. The pad cleaned up well though, and I’m getting the hang of it. I still need to get a bag for transporting spares and used ones though.

These were part of my sampler kit. At first I thought I made a huge mistake in ordering the Plus...it seemed huge to my eye. But I had consulted the advice in choosing the right size and I always end up with leakage beyond the pad edges, and I am a heavy/very heavy flow gal for most if not all of my period. It was the right size for me. I also have issues with the edge of disposeables always sitting in a way that makes it a painful situation no matter how i position them. And at least one edge would always come up and stick to me....neither happened with these! SO MUCH BETTER. Plan to order more.

I found GladRags about 10 years ago. I used them for light flow and spotting as I was on a 91 day cycle b/c after the birth of my 2ns child. I started with the regular GladRags Day pads and added others as I went along. I grew tired of the pills, having been on b/cpills for 30 years. We transitioned to an copper IUD, and I am on my first normal cycle in probably a decade and a half. Luckily I had the Day Pad Plus items available. I was lucky to have these in a shipment of other product I received. My body is shaped differently from others as I have PCOS and look a bit masculine down there, so it's a bit interesting trying to position the pad, but after trial, I have had no leaks and am loving every wearing of the product. I have no irritation and they absorb and have not leaked through on the underside. They are comfortable and do not bunch even if moist. I have passed on the information
on the company to my OB/GYN so she can pass it on to several patients.

As a recent convert to reusable pads, I wasn't sure to expect. I got these pads because they were recommended for a heavy flow, but I worried that they'd leak without a plastic backing, and that they'd feel like a super thick maxi pad. I am happy to report that neither of those bad things ever happened.
At this point, I've used these pads for three very heavy periods and they've never leaked. At all. And they last a LOT longer than my previous super-long disposable pads did. Plus, the pads are super comfortable because they form very well to all the nooks and crannies "down there."
The only problem I have with these pads is that the cleaning is kind of a pain in the butt. Yes, I use a soaking container. Yes, I clean them in the washing machine (and that is super easy), but it's a bit of a chore to keep up on all the cleaning when you're on your period and not feeling motivated, so I recommend buying more than you think you'll need so you don't have to clean them so often.
