Don't Just Take Our Word For It:

Customers praised these cloth pads as "comfortable and functional" with excellent absorbency lasting 4-6 hours. The kit provides enough pads for a full cycle and customers appreciate the environmental benefits. While most found them "soft and breathable," one shopper noted fit issues and absorption concerns. Easy to wash and maintain, with many reporting 10+ years of use.

      Comfortable & Functional

I took the plunge and purchased this pack after reading rave reviews from others. I was nervous at first because I had previously tried Thinx period panties, and after every pair (3 different styles) began leaking after a couple of hours, I came to the realization that I have a heavier flow than most.
I'm so excited that after 2 cycles using GladRags, I can say that they make good on the claims of lasting 4-6 hours, even on my heavy days. The absorption and amount of runover on the wings is on par with normal pads. They are softer and less scratchy than normal pads. I find them very easy to carry in my purse in the wetbag, and they're super easy to change out (much more so than an entire pair of period panties).
I highly recommend buying the soaking pot and anti-bac solution. I thoroughly rinse and wring the pads and inserts as soon as I can after use, getting out as much blood as possible. Then I stick them in the pot with water and solution. I change out the water every day as recommended on the solution bottle, and after my 5 days, I wash them. Barely any stain, if any. And the pot fits conveniently between my toilet and the bathroom wall, out of the way.
Looking forward to using these for years, and so excited to save waste and money!

      Perfect starter kit

I ordered this kit with organic cotton pads and have been using it for 2 years. The bag, pot and laundry bag are perfect for learning how to launder pads.
The only thing I had to add is a bar or borax soap for scrubbing stains.

      Life Saver

I was recently diagnosed with a rare skin disease on my girly parts called Lichen Sclerosus. I found GladRags after suffering through the worst period ever because I wore store bought Always pads. It would take me two whole weeks to recover from the pain and irritation those pads caused my skin to have. Well I ordered this set with an added note asking if they could send me the softest material they made and that color didn’t matter. I literally counted the days for this package to arrive. They came quick and also came with a sweet note from the girls hoping I would feel better soon. I am currently on my second day of my second cycle since I’ve been using GladRags and I couldn’t be happier. I have ZERO skin issues whereas before I could barely walk or wear any clothing. This company has saved my life. I can not thank these beautiful ladies enough. I can now live pain free and not dread this time of the month!

      Fanstastic value

I'm absolutely in love with these pads and this company. I bought a 3-pack of day pads from my local health food store before taking the plunge and LOVED the results. I've used them 4 or 5 times now and they seriously look brand new. They're very easy to care for and I can imagine these lasting years and years and years. I'll be recommending this brand to everyone and anyone I know!!

      Awesome Kit

This is a great kit! I have everything I need to get through a full cycle without having to do laundry. If you have a heavier cycle, you may want more night pads -- I'm ok with having 3, but I have a light-moderate cycle. The cloth pads are so easy to use & wash, it's a huge improvement over the disposable ones.

      I Love It!

I bought the organic undyed ones and I love them! The only thing I don't very much fancy is the fraying along the edges.

      Purchased for my Daughter

I have 4 girls and my 3rd one has entered into "womanhood"!! Just like myself, and my two older daughters, I purchased these for her. As always, Glad Rags have an excellent product that has kept me a loyal customer for the past 12 years!! In a few short years, my youngest daughter will receive her Deluxe Package!LOL!

      Wasted my money.

My suggestion is if you're new to cloth pads like I was is to just buy one pad from a few different companies and see which works best for you specifically. I made the mistake of trying to save money by buying this kit before trying glad rags only to find out that it was a waste of money and time because they don't fit well on my panties and glad rags doesn't absorb well therefore my panties get stained every period. While one cloth pad may be good for one person, it may not be for another.

      Totally enough coverage

I have really messy periods and I was worried about using these for the first time in the middle of a road trip, but everything worked great and I totally had enough pads!

Wish I had bought them sooner

They are very absorbent , and so comfortable! The cotton is soft, and also because its cotton you're not self conscious about the crinkling noises associated with traditional pads, On my heavy days I still wear my moon cup for extra protection, otherwise i would have to change them every 2 hours, but its only on my heavy days so im willing to live with it! On the others days i can just wear these pads and be fine. They wash well and so far if i take them out of the dryer as soon as they are done and lay them flat they dont get wrinkly and i dont have to iron them. Honestly the only con about these is there is just a snap to attach them to your underwear, so they dont stay in place like disposable pads with adhesive. Dont get me wrong they DO STAY IN PLACE, just not quite as securely, but it really only bothers me at night and as long as i have the night pad on im fine. If youre thinking about trying these dont hesitate! They are
so worth the money and time!

      Never going back

I bought this kit a few months back and I am just so impressed with ease of use, portability, and cleaning. I've contacted support for cleaning tips and they responded so quickly! I plan on buying 2 more of the overnight pads so I can use them every night of my period.

      Love it!

I'm twenty years old and bought this set two years ago and I have used them every cycle since - even in university dorms with communal laundry! I have a heavy flow and need to wash them every two to three days. The day pads are very comfortable and not too bulky and I love that I can customize the absorbency. The night pads are the perfect size, I never have to worry about leaking! My pads are still in great condition, despite putting them in the dryer most of the time. Thank you Gladrags!

      Best value!!!

I tried out cloth a year ago and never looked back. This deluxe kit is enough for my entire cycle. The pantyliners are great for the extra light days or even everyday use. This is the best kit to purchase if you don't want to wash mid cycle. I store the used pads in an enamel pot with bac out and change the water once a day. Works for me and I have no stains on any of my pads. Throughout the years I'm sure I can purchase singles if needed but this kit will last for years!!!!!

At first, I was going to go for the $100 starter kit, until I realized for $100 more you actually get much more. $200 seems scary, but in the end you save so much money.

      Great price for this kit!!

I already own some single pads from gladrags and was decided to buy this set. With the extras that I own this will get me through an entire cycle! I have been using cloth for over a year and will never switch back! I no longer cramp and my periods are lighter! I wish I would have used these in my teens.

      Great product, BUT

i love the reusable pads. They wash great! The only problem I had was that the day pads don't stay in place for me. I'm very active, riding horses and working outside as a cowgirl. After using and trying all the styles I wish I had 10 night pads. They stay in place bomber thru riding and hiking and jumping around. They are so nice and breathable.

      Awesome!

I have been using these since I was 19. They are the only way to go. So much more comfortable than plastic disposable pads. I am purchasing my second set now after 21 years. They last and last. I am proud of how much money and landfill space that I have saved using this product. Thank you! Thank you!

I switched to reusables and there is no way back!

I am super glad that I bought these - they work perfectly. Incredibly absorbent and easy to wash. And of course they look very cute. Personally for me it is enough of this kit through my period. I wash them either with hands or just throw them in the washing bag and do laundry as usual. Love them and recommend them to all my friends. Price is worth it. Environment and me are happy.

      I love them!

So happy I've switched. They're so comfortable! Wish I knew about GR years ago but it's all good. Glad to help the Earth some during my remaining years of menstruating.
Wish GR offers a value package with 3 night pads (plus the soaking pot & other pads in various sizes). I need at least 3 night pads a cycle. With the value packages, I would take 2 more night pads & zero pantyliners because using the day pads w/o the inserts work perfectly as pantyliners.
I did not get a value package with the soaking pot for the above reason but thank goodness I found a container that we already have at home. You'll need that soaking pot, ladies! It's hard to be washing the pads every single time you change. It's really helpful to have a place to put the used ones to soak in until you have time to thoroughly wash them.
Washing & soaking may be a pain but I actually enjoy the process. It's like basking in my womanhood.
With all my "suggested improvements," I still give GladRags 5-stars. Love them!

Two generations of Glad Rags users!

I had never heard of cloth pads until after my second child (first girl) was born. I had cloth diapered my babies, but had not realized cloth was an option for me until I finally heard of Glad Rags. I immediately bought a deluxe kit and have been so "glad" to have them! All these years later and they are still working as good as new. Now my oldest daughter has tried mine out and is ready for her own set of Glad Rags. Her deluxe kit arrived today. I'll be honest that this is bittersweet for me, my goodness, how the time has flown by! But I'm happy that she sees the benefit of cloth pads and gets to use these from the start of her journey to womanhood. And I was super excited to see the new pantyliners and ordered some for myself, too. Thanks for the wonderful product.

      Worth It

I was a bit skeptical at first, to be honest. Taking the chance and buying them was one of the best decisions of my life.
They're so comfortable and sturdy, and I'm so happy that I don't have to deal with the annoying sticky/flimsy mess that was disposable pads. But I guess what it really is, is the total lack of discomfort. No chafing, crinkling, or plastic sticking to my legs.
The variety of sizes that came with the variety pack was wonderful as well. I thought that the night pads were going to be too large, almost comically so, but it as great to finally have a pad that actually caught everything as I was sleeping. No more ruined panties for me!
Simply glorious. Buy them, it's worth it.

      Never too late

Why didn't I do this years ago?! These are amazing. Super comfortable for daily use. I use them with unpredictable peri-menopause, or confidently managing zumba, plane/car trips, or stress incontinence. They haven't let me down, yet.. I choose an extremely comfortable size and thickness for my day and forget about it. I use a liner just as a comfortable panty cover/liner. The waterproof bag is perfect for extras and to zip away until I arrive to a location that I can launder. They launder perfectly, I remove them from the dryer slightly damp, re straighten and keep them in a small storage box. They are way better than any of the paper/plastic/fill the landfill products.

      Great Purchase

I'm so happy I invested in the Deluxe Pad Kit. There are enough for my whole cycle without washing in between, with some of the regular pads to spare. Mostly, I love how comfortable they are! With disposable pads, I constantly had skin irritation, but not with GladRags. My skin feels like it can breathe. The different fabrics are fun and I like that they choose the styles for you.

      Healthier and more sanitary!

Because we're all so used to disposable pads and tampons, you have to make a slight adjustment to your lifestyle since we are creatures of habit. But I think glad rags is a wise choice for delicate feminine health and for the environment. I noticed that the redness washes out fairly easily and if you want to loosen the stains, it's quick to soak it in detergent + water then wash it in the machine or hand wash. What I deeply appreciate is that glad rags don't catch odors like disposable pads often do. The fabric is breathable and gentle so no skin rash. My mind is at rest because I feel glad rags are healthier for my body and I feel cleaner. Give glad rags a chance if you haven't already!

      Love it

I ordered the deluxe pad kit as my first experience with glad rags. They are the best!!! No more disposable pads for me. Cleanning is easy, just soak in cold water for a couple of hours and hand wash.
The kit comes with pads more than enough for one period. Night pads are longer and bigger than I expected but they are great for sleeping. Day pads were a little bit unconforable at first but once I learned to place them well they are fine.
      Great product, very happy!

A+! 10/10! Gold stars for everyone!

I am in such relief, I was gradually becoming allergic to my pads over the last couple years. I thought there wouldn't be any sort of relief until Erika Moen whipped up her GladRags article on the menstrual cups they carry, which brought me over to the site.
That's when I found these babies. The deluxe kit is 100% worth it, for me it's just enough to get me through my cycle with no irritation and honestly much more comfortable to wear. The colours are adorable, and when I got them in the mail I was honestly excited for my next period to try them out. I'm a lazy washer, and these clean up beautifully.

Top 5 Questions From People Thinking About Switching:

      Will they leak?

They do not have a plastic liner in them, they will eventually leak through (like a tampon!). How fast you bleed through them depends on how heavy your flow is, and also how thin your menstrual blood is.

Use one insert for light flow and two for moderate flow, and change pads as you would a disposable, and you'll be worry free!

      How do I wash them?

Lots of people worry they'll be hard to wash. But it's easy! You can just machine wash and dry with your normal laundry.

There's more extensive laundering information below and you can make it as much of a process as you want, but it can really be as simple as that.

Are cloth pads bulkier than disposables?

Most customers say that they feel softer and more comfortable than disposables.

Can we talk about ... odor?

The elephant in the room: Are they going to smell?

Cotton breathes better than plastic pads and does not contain any chemical gels. So our pads do not have that gross 'disposable pad' smell that everyone hates. Most people worry that reusable pads will be like that x10, but they're not.

If you empty out your carry bag of used pads daily, smells are generally a non issue. You can also rinse your GladRags out with cool water before putting them in the laundry if you do notice anything.

Why do most people start with a kit?

      • Save more than buying individually
      • Make the transition easier by having what you need onhand at all stages of your cycle
      • Get a cute, PFAS-free, waterproof carrying case so you're always prepared
      • Change can be hard, but it's much easier if you start with a SYSTEM, and not just a few pads.

      FAQ

HOW MANY PADS DO I NEED?

Most people start with 8-12 pads and have to wash 1-2 times during their cycle. If you're new to cloth pads, we recommend a Cloth Pad Starter Kit (or Starter Kit Plus), using that for a few cycles and figuring out what else you need to complete your collection.

      HOW LONG DO THEY LAST?

We guarantee our pads to last at least 5 years with proper care. Hundreds of customers have told us that their pads lasted at least 10 years before they replaced them (or menopause started)! Personally, I've been using the same pads for over 12.

Our cost savings estimates are all based on 5 years of use, but if you actually use them for 10 years, imagine how much more you'll save!

CAN THEY BE USED FOR LIGHT INCONTINENCE?

They sure can. While GladRags were originally designed for menstruation, it didn't take long to start hearing from customers that they were being used for light leaks. That's not something we talk about enough as a culture, but light incontinence impacts 1/3 of women! They're a wonderful alternative to disposables.

Most people find that the pantyliner plus is the perfect light incontinence solution. For a little more peace of mind (or the ability to swap out the insert for a new one), the Day Pad is the other go-to option.

      CLEANING & CARE

Caring for your cloth pads is simple. Follow our easy step-by-step instructions to ensure your GladRags will stay in great condition for years to come.

Easy care: Machine washable with standard detergent. Designed to retain absorbency and shape wash after wash.

Detailed Cloth Pad Cleaning & Care:

After use, separate the inserts from the holder. Pantyliners do not have inserts.
Soak in cold water, if desired, to help prevent staining. Use the presoak function on your washing machine, or soak in a covered rust-proof container. Change soaking water daily.
Machine wash cold using a natural detergent and tumble dry low or line dry. Do not use bleach or fabric softener. You may hand wash pads if desired.
Remove pads from dryer promptly and store flat to eliminate wrinkling; use cool iron if desired. Store your pads in a clean, dry place until next use.

Avoid using detergents with fabric softeners or whiteners/brighteners as these can inhibit the absorbency of your cloth pads. Try these plastic-free, non-toxic laundry detergent sheets from our friends at Zero Waste Cartel! Be aware that soaking your cloth pads in water with additives such as hydrogen peroxide can degrade the fabric and lead to holes. For this reason, we recommend utilizing stain removers as spot treatments and do not advise soaking cloth pads in water treated with peroxide-based stain removers.

We do not recommend the use of castile soap, facial soap, or other soaps not intended for textile laundering. Excess detergent may lead to build up, which can limit the absorbency of your cloth pads. While we have many customers that use homemade detergents with great success, cloth pads laundered with homemade detergent are not covered under our warranty. Full warranty information is available here.

A note about staining: Soaking your GladRags in cold water or pre-treating with an enzymatic cleanser immediately after using are two simple ways to prevent staining. However, light staining does not indicate that your laundered cloth pads are not clean or sanitary!

To clean your GladRags Carry Bag, simply wipe the bag with a damp cloth or machine wash cold, then air dry or tumble dry low.
