      The best!

This is my second time buying Gladrags pads. My first time was wayyy back around 2010, and I still have some of those pads! If you take good care of them, they last forever.
The 100% cotton is a must for me: with polyester/"bamboo"/minky fabric pads I get so much irritation (much like I would with disposable pads), but none of that happens with the cotton Gladrags. I like this set in particular because it lasts me my entire cycle and I don't have to worry about running out of pads. As a bigger woman, the plus size fits me perfectly and they stay in place in my underwear. The pads are, as always, well constructed, soft, and absorbent.

I used them for my incontinence, they work well, I don't get irritated down there for these pads. I am going to be ordering more soon

      Amazing amazing amazing!!!

I had my doubts about cloth pads because I have a rather heavy period. But i had been wanting to switch to something more comfortable and environmentally friendly for a long time so I decided to take a big jump and got this big kit. I was AMAZED immediately. These cloth pads are ten times as comfy as their disposable counterparts, plus even on my heaviest days i never once leaked through! They held so much more than disposable pads!
I do wish there was a night pad with a longer, wider back. I always leak in the back. But I'm going to try pulling an insert back further at night next time I have to use them.
All in all, amazing. I'm so happy with how comfortable and absorbent they are! I cannot rave enough, I will never be going back to disposable pads. Thank you so much, GladRags!

      Worth It!

I am highly pleased with this purchase! I did feel a bit like I was wearing a diaper on my heaviest days with the full Plus Night pad... but I also had no stains on my underwear for the first time in years. Overall, I feel great about using these and reducing my plastic waste.
Also, the customer service is fantastic. The stitching of one of my pads came loose during the first wash (before using), and the team was super fast in sending me a replacement.
Would (and will) recommend these to all my girlfriends who don’t like cups.

      Amazing!!

My only question is... WHY did I not get these sooner? These pads are amazing quality, and with five daughters in my home I have already saved exponential amounts of money!

So glad I made the switch

I'm really glad I made the switch from disposable feminine care products, to Glad Rags. I'm 40 years old so having my period is nothing new, but traditional pads irritated my skin and I hate tampons. I got one pad to 'try out' and chose to go for it and make the switch. Even just one period in, I felt more comfortable, and there was minimal stains after I washed the pads. Tip - in your soaking bucket put in some of your usual laundry detergent, and a half scoop of OXY Clean. That helped keep the stains at bay. Good luck! You won't regret your purchase.

These things are far out, man!

The "curse" ain't such a bummer anymore. I feel more at one with my bod. The colors are groovy; material's sooooooo soooooooooft. The plus size is righteous! Right on to the beautiful people at Glad Rags. I gave disposable pads the kiss off and now I can lay back and go with the flow. To all you cats who aren't sure I say lay down that bread and get some Glad Rags because they are outta sight! Can you dig it?!

      Such a relief

After developing an allergy to disposal pads, I discovered Glad Rags and I couldn't be happier. The pads are soft & comfortable to wear, such a relief(no more itchy rashes). I got the pad plus kit for the extra length & to have enough for the whole period. My only complaint is not enough pantyliners in the kit. But will be ordering 3 more. There are plenty of liners, I only use one at a time.

Likes: In addition to having cute prints, I like the fact that with GladRags you have some control over the thickness and absorbancy of the pads with their use of the inserts. This kit has most of what you need to get started.
Minor Dislikes: I don't care for the size of the carry bag, I like how it is designed, but I feel as though I scrunch my pads in (especially if you need to carry 3 or more). I also agree with another review stating that I need a few more pads to get through my period without washing.
Overall: I like the GladRags, and this kit is a great way to get started with a cloth pad collection. To those who haven't had cloth pads before, I understand any hesitation you may have; however I have found cloth pads to be less irritating to my body and smell a lot better (even my wet bag of used cloth pads don't smell). I have found I have to change them just as often as a disposable, and they have about the same level of absorbency.

      In love. <3

This was my first experience using reusables and I knew from the first use that I would never look back.
I was honestly a little angry with everyone that I had previously discussed period products with before for not knowing/telling me about cloth pads and menstrual cups. I realized later that the anger is irrational because many people still have no idea that this "alternative" exists. I'm working on changing this; I've already had one sister-in-law make the switch and I will not stop until the majority of women I know begin to think of the "normal" menstrual products as the alternative.
I want to thank you and everyone within the reusable community for creating such life-altering products! No longer do I feel wasteful or dirty during my cycles - I feel fantastic.
As for the actual product: wonderful. No leaks, easy to clean, and a perfect size for those with a bigger frame or those who desire a little more coverage.

      Best thing since sliced bread!

I love love love love love this kit! It provides the extra coverage that I need. I have been using cloth pads since high school....over 10 years! I just bought a new set. The others lasted me well over 10 years and probably could last more, I just wanted a change. Gladrags has changed my life! Periods are not an inconvenience anymore. And I love knowing that I have cute designs in my undies.

      Great Purchase

This kit is a great intro to cloth pads. I'm so glad I purchased it. They really don't smell as bad when full as disposable pads do, and I've found them to be much, much more absorbent. I rarely actually bleed through the second liner in the day pads, but keep it in for extra insurance. The longer length is really nice for those of us who usually leak toward the front or back of a 'regular' size pad. Had to buy a few more to get me through my entire cycle without doing laundry, but I love them. Love love love them.

      Never going back!

I love my gladrags! I'll never go back to disposables. The colors are cheerful, they wash in the machine well, there is no smells while using these pads, I regret not ordering these sooner. Love these pads, I've told my friends about them, even took a picture of them as soon as I got them in the mail to show my friends.

Top 5 Questions From People Thinking About Switching:

      Will they leak?

They do not have a plastic liner in them, they will eventually leak through (like a tampon!). How fast you bleed through them depends on how heavy your flow is, and also how thin your menstrual blood is.

Use one insert for light flow and two for moderate flow, and change pads as you would a disposable, and you'll be worry free!

      How do I wash them?

Lots of people worry they'll be hard to wash. But it's easy! You can just machine wash and dry with your normal laundry.

There's more extensive laundering information below and you can make it as much of a process as you want, but it can really be as simple as that.

Are cloth pads bulkier than disposables?

Most customers say that they feel softer and more comfortable than disposables.

Can we talk about ... odor?

The elephant in the room: Are they going to smell?

Cotton breathes better than plastic pads and does not contain any chemical gels. So our pads do not have that gross 'disposable pad' smell that everyone hates. Most people worry that reusable pads will be like that x10, but they're not.

If you empty out your carry bag of used pads daily, smells are generally a non issue. You can also rinse your GladRags out with cool water before putting them in the laundry if you do notice anything.

Why do most people start with a kit?

      • Save more than buying individually
      • Make the transition easier by having what you need onhand at all stages of your cycle
      • Get a cute, PFAS-free, waterproof carrying case so you're always prepared
      • Change can be hard, but it's much easier if you start with a SYSTEM, and not just a few pads.

      FAQ

HOW MANY PADS DO I NEED?

Most people start with 8-12 pads and have to wash 1-2 times during their cycle. If you're new to cloth pads, we recommend a Cloth Pad Starter Kit (or Starter Kit Plus), using that for a few cycles and figuring out what else you need to complete your collection.

      HOW LONG DO THEY LAST?

We guarantee our pads to last at least 5 years with proper care. Hundreds of customers have told us that their pads lasted at least 10 years before they replaced them (or menopause started)! Personally, I've been using the same pads for over 12.

Our cost savings estimates are all based on 5 years of use, but if you actually use them for 10 years, imagine how much more you'll save!

CAN THEY BE USED FOR LIGHT INCONTINENCE?

They sure can. While GladRags were originally designed for menstruation, it didn't take long to start hearing from customers that they were being used for light leaks. That's not something we talk about enough as a culture, but light incontinence impacts 1/3 of women! They're a wonderful alternative to disposables.

Most people find that the pantyliner plus is the perfect light incontinence solution. For a little more peace of mind (or the ability to swap out the insert for a new one), the Day Pad is the other go-to option.

      CLEANING & CARE

Caring for your cloth pads is simple. Follow our easy step-by-step instructions to ensure your GladRags will stay in great condition for years to come.

Easy care: Machine washable with standard detergent. Designed to retain absorbency and shape wash after wash.

Detailed Cloth Pad Cleaning & Care:

After use, separate the inserts from the holder. Pantyliners do not have inserts.
Soak in cold water, if desired, to help prevent staining. Use the presoak function on your washing machine, or soak in a covered rust-proof container. Change soaking water daily.
Machine wash cold using a natural detergent and tumble dry low or line dry. Do not use bleach or fabric softener. You may hand wash pads if desired.
Remove pads from dryer promptly and store flat to eliminate wrinkling; use cool iron if desired. Store your pads in a clean, dry place until next use.

Avoid using detergents with fabric softeners or whiteners/brighteners as these can inhibit the absorbency of your cloth pads. Try these plastic-free, non-toxic laundry detergent sheets from our friends at Zero Waste Cartel! Be aware that soaking your cloth pads in water with additives such as hydrogen peroxide can degrade the fabric and lead to holes. For this reason, we recommend utilizing stain removers as spot treatments and do not advise soaking cloth pads in water treated with peroxide-based stain removers.

We do not recommend the use of castile soap, facial soap, or other soaps not intended for textile laundering. Excess detergent may lead to build up, which can limit the absorbency of your cloth pads. While we have many customers that use homemade detergents with great success, cloth pads laundered with homemade detergent are not covered under our warranty. Full warranty information is available here.

A note about staining: Soaking your GladRags in cold water or pre-treating with an enzymatic cleanser immediately after using are two simple ways to prevent staining. However, light staining does not indicate that your laundered cloth pads are not clean or sanitary!

To clean your GladRags Carry Bag, simply wipe the bag with a damp cloth or machine wash cold, then air dry or tumble dry low.
