I’ve been using GladRags for more than 5 years, and I think they’re great. This Heavy Flow Kit is wonderful! I actually enjoy using them. The coverage I need, they feel good, and come in fun colors and patterns that make you feel cozy. This is the best I’ve ever felt as I anticipate my oncoming menstruation.

I am now on my third cycle using these pads, and I think I will continue to use them.

What I like:
- Comfortable. I'm used to wearing thick maxi pads for my heavy flow, so this was an easy transition for me. They are a little bit bulky, but this doesn't bother me.
- Don't have to constantly throw away plastic-containing disposable pads!
- No plastic lining. The main reason I bought these!
- Organic and undyed is great! They don't stain terribly, but they are getting a little pink over time.
- Quite absorbent. I only have to change these a bit more frequently than disposable pads. Of course, they will leak faster than disposables as they don't have that waterproof plastic lining, but I figured out the timing pretty quickly.

What I don't like:
- Pretty significant shrinkage after washing. I've washed the pads a few times, now. I soak them in cold water that is changed daily after use until I wash them, wash in cold water on a delicate cycle, shake them around/stretch them, and then hang them up to dry. No heat, no tumble drying. My day pad plus inserts have shrunk to almost exactly the same size as the regular day pad inserts when they were new. This makes the regular day pads quite small and prone to sliding, so they're really only useful on light-flow days when you aren't being too active.
- After only a few cycles of use/a handful of washes, they seem to be pilling. There are also many loose threads forming around the edges. I'm concerned about how they'll hold up over time... I was hoping to use these for a long time, but they might not make it too long.
- Often, blood seems to do this funny thing where it bypasses the inserts and soaks through the side of the pad where the wings connect, which ends up soiling underwear. This happens quickly, and underwear will end up stained while the inserts haven't even gotten bloody! I have managed to mostly fix this problem by using a day pad plus with a day pad plus insert combined with the smaller day pad insert *sideways* in the pad, forming a cross shape. This makes it a bit bulkier but works for the most part!
- The night pads just aren't long enough. I still leak behind the back of the pad onto my underwear (and then my pants... and then my sheets...). I've found that wearing compression shorts to bed helps this, but it's not the most comfortable. I'm thinking of sewing on a few extra inches of cotton fabric to extend the pad and catch that stray blood.

Overall, I'm satisfied! It's a learning curve, for sure. For my next purchase of cloth pads, I may try out a different company, but that depends on how well these hold up over time.

This was my first purchase of cloth reusable pads. I've only used them for one cycle since receiving them and I'm hooked already! My favorite thing is how very soft and comfortable they are. My flow is medium and I didn't have any trouble with leaking. They seem to be more absorbent than disposable pads. They were very easy to clean as well. I had seen some other reviewers mention shrinking etc. I just washed them in cold water and line dried them. I didn't experience any shrinkage and there was no evident staining. I will definitely be buying more and I'm planning to order some for my daughter as well. Great product! Would love to see some more floral vintage patterns. I ordered the wildflower pattern but didn't care for all the other bright pattern options available.

I had never tried cloth pads before but decided to go big and get this kit when my period returned post-partum. These products are so much more comfortable than disposable, easy to care for, and in the case of the night pads, provide much better coverage. I’ve added a few more day pads and would like a few more liners so I have enough in between washings, but this is a great start for anyone with a heavy flow. I’m very happy with my purchase and would recommend to anyone!

Wowowow. First time trying any pads from GladRags. I've been relying on an old model of menstrual cup for a while, which has been fine and effective, but the insertion and wearing of that thing got tiring. Pads have always been convenient and comfortable for me, so reusables sounded good in theory.
I do package delivery. Ten hour shifts for four days a week. It's amazing how absorbent these things are. They're pretty comfortable to wear during drives and even while running about. I actually started out using three inserts just in case, but the third one might not even be necessary. It was still comfortable to wear.
Nice things about them is how secure they are. Disposables you have to stick on and they move around sometimes. These snap-on pads stay where you put them and won't fold in all weird on themselves. You just have to be willing to do a bit of work for the cleaning. But for now, I think it's all worth it.

I have mixed feelings about these.
The Good:
1. Super absorbent. Clots don't sit on top like they do with disposable pads.
2. Zero waste. Enough said.
3. High quality and seem very sturdy.
4. Overnight pads are quite comfortable.
5. No leakage. I always got blood on my underwear with disposable pads. These eliminated that issue entirely.
The Bad:
1. Don't even try wearing tight pants. Even with just one insert, these bulge out in a weird and obvious way.
2. The inserts seem to make these feel a bit stiff. As a result, I found they sort of ride up into me and rubbed against me which isn't intolerable if you're not walking much, but still quite uncomfortable.
3. These are not breathable and get hot. My crotch was so sweaty, I found myself changing pads more often because the entire pad would be damp from sweat even if there wasn't much blood. Not a pleasant feeling.
The Neutral:
1. Bulky like a maxi pads. I usually wore maxi over there thin ones so this was no big deal for me.
2. Simple enough to clean.
Overall, these have some great features but the comfort level leaves something to be desired. I did find the standard pads more comfortable than the plus but they just didn't cut it for the first couple of days of heavy flow. I'd rather wear the over night pads than the plus. I will continue to use these but I may try another brand to see if I can find something more comfortable before committing to more of these.

I’ve been using XO Flow and Glad Rags pantyliners for years, so I couldn’t imagine going back to disposables for postpartum. This kit has been perfect! There are enough pads that I’ve been able to launder only every 3-4 days, and the variety is perfect for days and nights! I highly recommend this kit for postpartum comfort!

I am so happy I ordered this set of pads. I have a really heavy flow as I am older and getting near premenopausal age. These pads work very well because you can customize the absorbency by using more or fewer liners. So soft too. I was getting irritated by disposable products, but these don’t bother me. And because they are all cotton, they breathe and I don’t have that horrible odor from my period. I only wish I ordered these sooner!

I would highly recommend this kit for anyone with a heavy flow. It's a great investment and keeps you dry.

Previously purchased a small package of GladRags moons ago, I was just so sick of constantly spending money on disposable pads, the waste they created, and not to mention they are just plain uncomfortable. Easily the best decision I made. Fast forward those moons and I was going to need something to help with postpartum flow. Knowing I was pretty happy with GladRags I decided to give their heavy flow kit a try, again, not disappointed!!! For the first few days I did use what the hospital provided (trust me, the cold packs are 100% worth it) After that this kit was a lifesaver. Super comfy, easy to clean, no waste, worth easy dollar I spent. Oh, and really cute fabric patterns! I would recommend GladRags to anyone who is tried to using disposable pads, or looking for something comfortable postpartum.

This set is an excellent starting set up if you are looking for a little bit extra protection. It includes everything I need to get through a cycle or if things get really rough I just do a quick load of laundry lay the laundered items out to dry and I’m back in business. I have recommended this set to several people and everyone who tries it loves it.

I love the decision to purchase the Heavy Flow Kit. Since switching from disposable pads to cloth I have experienced decreased cramps, clots, and length of period.

Positives: I particularly liked the Day and Day Plus pads - they were very good in terms of comfort and absorbency. Easy to clean as long as you're not too attached to the patterning.
Negatives: Night pads weren't amazing for me. They seem like they would be super absorbent but I usually leak over the wing where there's only one layer of cloth, not three, so I end up having to change earlier than I expected. Also, unlike a disposable pad with a plastic bottom layer, if I bleed into the same spot, it just goes through all the layers in that single spot instead of redistributing it around. So it feels like I'm not getting use out of the rest of the pad.
Interesting: A black pad hides blood really well, so you don't feel like you've ruined a print. On the other hand, that makes it harder to check if you've actually cleaned it all properly!

I'm soo happy I decided to purchase this. I've been very impressed with it.

No more anxiety about having enough pads! The last time I used disposable pads, I used up around 5 extra long maxi pads, 3 extra heavy overnight pads (just for the coverage!), 2 normal maxi pads, and 3 ultra thin pads every cyle. This heavy flow kit plus two pantyliners is all I need for one cycle!
Definitely keep in mind if you're going from disposable, synthetic pads to these pads, the flow that usually gets trapped by the plastic backing will not be caught by these cotton pads. My solution was to wear two inserts at a time, which is a snug fit but works for me. I definitely recommend using the night pads as you would for an extra long maxi pad. I haven't leaked while sleeping, which I think is due to the reusable pad actually catching the blood before it has the time to travel and leak onto an "unprotected" area. I find these pads really absorbent and comfortable, and easy to soak, and throw them in my laundry. I even live in a college dorm, and it works out with my lifestyle!

I love my glad rags. I currently live a life of minimal waste and I try to do as much plastic free living as possible. My first attempt at minimal waste was using the diva cup. The diva cup is great but it pushed on my bladder a made me feel like I had to pee all of the time, and getting it in and out can be sort of a pain. These glad rags are great for me! I don't mind the extra work in soaking them after use and before washing them because to me any waste I can prevent creating is worth the extra 10 minutes of care time. They're extremely comfortable as well. I have experienced a little leakage but that would happen to me with regular tampons and pads as well and it's kind of something that just happens and I'm okay with, I just make sure I'm extra prepared on the heavy flow days. I highly recommend these for every body!

I was so excited when I ordered Glad Rags. I have read some of the reviews and a lot of them we're good. I didn't pay much mind to the not so good reviews. However I had to experience it on my own. These pads leak way too much. They do not hold my flow. I also did not see any change in the amount of days that I had my cycle. I'm not sure if it's me in my body or just these pads but they are not for me. I will not be ordering any more. I had to turn around and order from another company. Waiting to use those now. I hope they are a lot better than Glad Rags. I feel like I wasted my money. This is a honest review and I'm not trying to discredit the product. But when asked for a review I believe you must State the truth.
