Our Pantyliner is perfect for light flows, spotting, daily discharge, or as backup protection for cups or tampons.

The shortest and most discreet of our all-cotton pads, the pantyliner is preferred by small-bodied folks. It fits flat folded up in a coin purse, so it’s perfect to carry around for those unpredictable times.

The Pantyliner is shorter than the Organic Pantyliner Plus, but has a little more form to it from two extra layers of flannel on the wings. For extra length and coverage at the sides, check out the Organic Pantyliner Plus.

    How GladRags Work

    1. Snap pantyliner around underwear.
    2. Change as often as you would a disposable pad (try our carry bags for easy on the go-storage)
    3. Wash and reuse!

Hot tip: All three styles of Pantyliners are as absorbent as a disposable liner. The main difference between the pantyliner and pantyliner plus is length!

Don't Just Take Our Word For It:

Highly regarded reusable pantyliner praised for being organic, soft, and absorbent. Customers said it's "very comfortable" and eco-friendly. Many appreciate chemical-free materials recommended by doctors. Common concerns include shifting/slipping during wear, stiffness/bulkiness of organic cotton, shrinkage after washing, and curling. Some prefer colored versions for softness.

This is a terrific product! Doesn't shed a multitude of little bits and pieces to irritate my sensitive private areas, as so many other toilet papers do. And I'm helping to do some good in the world at the same time!

    love the organic pantyliners

I love the organic pantyliners. I find they stay put with well-fitting pants, snapped around my cotton Jockey panties. When I use the restroom I can pull them forward or backward, if needed, but usually only 1/4 inch or so. They are very comfortable. At night I take them off, drip some Biokleen ensyme solution on the dirty areas and set them aside, take my shower, then wash them out under the sink with a little soap, rubbing the dirty area together with other areas of the cloth liners. I rinse and squeeze them out, hang to dry and then put in the laundry basket. I wash them in the machine inside a lingerie mesh thing, on cold, with the rest of my white clothes, using Trader Joe's laundry soap, no bleach, and then dry them in a dryer (inside the mesh) long enough to get them a bit dry. I don't want to shrink them or distort their shape, so I pull them back into shape at the edges and iron them. I hang them up to dry completely. I REALLY LIKE them! They are substantial, yet soft and so much better than adding to the landfill! I tried the Pantyliner Plus, but like the smaller pantyliners better. I am a senior in menopause and use them for normal drips and stains.

really happy with these little guys!

I really have liked using these pantiliners, so much better than disposable. Someone else mentioned they ran into the pantiliner slipping around. I had that problem as well and was very frustrated about it until I remembered that safety pins exist and that has worked great for me. I also have only used the organic cotton so I can't weigh in on which I like more, but I can't complain about the organic version. They do stain a bit if you use them on heavier days but I'm not bothered by it personally.

Great substitution, but needs a non-slip design somehow

I'm happy to be a part of the no-menstruation waste movement. However, these pantyliners also slip to the back after I walked a distance. So I keep having to pull it forward each time I go to the rest room. Perhaps there needs to be a non-slip gel/material, or an underwear that pairs with the pantyliners?

    Save Money & Mother Earth

I have been exclusively using a menstrual cup for years. After having a child, I found I needed a little extra protection as my periods were heavier. I bought all the GladRags pad sizes to have the option to forego the menstrual cup if I wanted for a period cycle. They are all wonderful! I don't wear the liners with silky underwear as they slide a little. They don't slide on cotton underwear. The organic cotton pads are SO COMFORTABLE! I will be using these for my second child postpartum instead of the disposable pads from the hospital. Thank you GladRags for making such a wonderful product that I will use for years and prevent unnecessary waste to be sent to the landfill.

    Not the best

I love that it is organic cotton, but after washing they bunch up and won't stay put. The one that is not organic, was much better and more comfortable. I wish the organic ones worked as well!

Love Organic, although I wish they were softer

I love that there is an organic liner. When I made my purchase, I also got the free pantyliner, however that one was not organic. That one is significantly softer and thiner. I only use it when I have run out because I prefer the organic. I am not sure if there is a way to make the organic softer?

Good but I'd now rather buy the Pantyliners Plus, for them to stay in place better

I'm satisfied with the material and product as such, but I should have chosen the Pantyliners Plus (longer ones) instead, as the shorter ones, with my clothes, won't stay in place but are easily moved from their position when I walk etc..
I might try applying a velcro strip at the bottom of the Pantyliners to increase friction/adhesion, or, add another, narrower button to the wings so that they stay in place.
Customer support replied to my feedback in a friendly way, saying about the Pantyliners that some people think the longer ones work best and some think the shorter ones work best.

    So soft!

The organic cotton flannel is incredibly soft. (And, if you use a gentle stain remover or soak the pad right away, it'll stay white!) My only complaint is that sometimes it shifts around and doesn't stay in place (maybe the wings could be shorter/tighter?).

    saving the plante

I love the organic pantyliner. I was seeing a Physical Therapist for my pelvic floor disorders. She insisted I give up even my organic disposable pads. I felt I still needed something so she okayed my cloth organic panty liners. They are the perfect size and very absorbent. I wish I had known about the Physical Therapy specialty : Women's health before my bladder sling and hysterectomy. Glad I found your products. Thank you

    Thin & works!

I am allergic to bleach. Wearing tampons & pads was giving me a horrible feeling down there & that's not a good place to have problems at! I switched to a menstrual cup, but my cycle isn't very regular, so I needed something to wear when I got close to when my periods started. These pads were thin enough to be comfortable & they handled the first day of my periods so very well! I can say that this pad will take care of a low flow with no difficult whatsoever. :)

    Scratchy bulky and small

This size is way too small for an average sized body. Combined with the somewhat scratchy feeling of the cotton and the fact that they are bulkier than the colored pads, it is pretty uncomfortable... Going to stick to the Color Pantyliner Plus-es from now on.

    mini pads

Having used the full size pads with liners for more than 15 years, I was looking forward to trying the mini pads. Unfortuneately they were not at all what I had hoped for. they curl and do not stay flat. they are not as comfortable as the larger pads. I would not order them again.

    Organic but...

I have the liners in both the orangic undyed and in a standard color/pattern. I give the standard ones 5 stars and a super high recommendation. I ordered the organic undyed ones as I needed some white ones for when wearing light clothes. And they work for that and are absorbent. But...
They are SOOOO stiff. Even after several washing. They are more comfortable than disposable pads, but far less comfortable than the standard pads Gladrags offers. And they are bulky and hard to put on and take off. Finally, they curl so severely in the washer/dryer that they must e ironed after every washing in order to be wearable. If you need some white/light pads, get a few of these, but then get mostly standard ones for the rest of the time.

    Healthy Alternative... Thank you!

I have battled an on-going UTI for more than three years. Being over 60 years old, I frequently have leakage, so I was wearing disposable pads every day. Since I have found Glad Rags, the UTI has cleared up. My doctor agreed that cotton was better than any artificial product. Thank you for providing this product. My body thanks you.

    These are great!

I am post menopausal with occasional incontinence (laughing or coughing) and these washable pads are perfect, keeping me dry for my 12 hour work day. I used to use the regular menstrual Glad Rags, but they were too big and bulky and these are the perfct size. I have 8 or 9 so that I can go the week and then wash. I dry them flat in the sun and they are dry in 24 hours. Thanks Glad Rags.

    Natual is always best....

For over two years, I battled an on-going UTI that just wouldn't go away. Since I'm of the age that a sneeze, laugh, or cough, releases just enough urine to be concerned with, I had to use Pantyliners every day. Then I decided to try Gladrags. Since I began using them, I have finally ended the battle with the chronic UTI, and kept it at bay. My doctor told me "Cotton is always better than the store brand liners that hold in so much moisture." They are a bit pricey; but considering the quality of the product, it is worth every penny to me. Thank you Gladrags for these products... and keeping them made in the USA!

    great product

I love Glad Rags and consider myself one of the luckiest women to have found such a product. I had six of the daily light pads and then tried the organic panti-liners. I don't need to get into my health problems, but just to say I needed something and I am sensitive to the regular store brands. They are comfortable, soft, and durable. They organic panti-liners are smaller and thicker than the ones the others I have, but they are also more absorbent. I'm so thankful.

Top 5 Questions From People Thinking About Switching:

    Do they REALLY save money?

There's a lot of talk out there about saving money over time, but the math doesn't always add up. Ours does.

Exact amounts vary based on what type of disposable pads you use, and how many you use per period, but a low average assumes 25 pads per cycle (5 pads/day for 5 days) or 300 pads per year, totaling approximately $450 over 5 years. If you buy 'natural' or Organic pads, the 5 year cost is more like $1,070–$1,430. And disposable pad costs have risen 40%+ since 2020, so who knows what they'll be in 5 years!

Our Conventional Deluxe Kit costs $288 and the Organic version is $345, and they're guaranteed to last 5 years. So over 5 years, you're going to save $100-162. At the bare minimum.

And if you currently buy Organic pads, and your new GladRags last longer than 5 years (many customers use them for 10!), You could be saving $2500+ over the next 10 years!

    Will they leak?

They do not have a plastic liner in them, they will eventually leak through (like a tampon!). How fast you bleed through them depends on how heavy your flow is, and also how thin your menstrual blood is.

Change pads as you would a disposable, and you'll be worry free!

    Are cloth pads bulky?

Most customers say that they feel softer and more comfortable than disposables.

    How do I wash them?

Lots of people worry they'll be hard to wash. But it's easy! You can just machine wash and dry with your normal laundry.

There's more extensive laundering information below and you can make it as much of a process as you want, but it can really be as simple as that.

Can we talk about ... odor?

The elephant in the room: Are they going to smell?

Cotton breathes better than plastic pads and does not contain any chemical gels. So our pads do not have that gross 'disposable pad' smell that everyone hates. Most people worry that reusable pads will be like that x10, but they're not.

If you empty out your carry bag of used pads daily, smells are generally a non issue. You can also rinse your GladRags out with cool water before putting them in the laundry if you do notice anything.

    New to Reusable Pads?

Start with a kit. Most customers appreciate:

    • Starting with enough pads for a cycle
    • Getting the best value
    • Easier transition with different styles to choose at different parts of their cycle

    FAQ

HOW MANY PADS DO I NEED?

Most people start with 8-12 pads and have to wash 1-2 times during their cycle. If you're new to cloth pads, we recommend a Cloth Pad Starter Kit (or Starter Kit Plus), using that for a few cycles and figuring out what else you need to complete your collection.

    HOW LONG DO THEY LAST?

We guarantee our pads to last at least 5 years with proper care. Hundreds of customers have told us that their pads lasted at least 10 years before they replaced them (or menopause started)! Personally, I've been using the same pads for over 12.

Our cost savings estimates are all based on 5 years of use, but if you actually use them for 10 years, imagine how much more you'll save!

CAN THEY BE USED FOR LIGHT INCONTINENCE?

They sure can. While GladRags were originally designed for menstruation, it didn't take long to start hearing from customers that they were being used for light leaks. That's not something we talk about enough as a culture, but light incontinence impacts 1/3 of women! They're a wonderful alternative to disposables.

Most people find that the pantyliner plus is the perfect light incontinence solution. For a little more peace of mind (or the ability to swap out the insert for a new one), the Day Pad is the other go-to option.

    CLEANING & CARE

Caring for your cloth pads is simple. Follow our easy step-by-step instructions to ensure your GladRags will stay in great condition for years to come.

Easy care: Machine washable with standard detergent. Designed to retain absorbency and shape wash after wash.

Detailed Cloth Pad Cleaning & Care:

After use, separate the inserts from the holder. Pantyliners do not have inserts.
Soak in cold water, if desired, to help prevent staining. Use the presoak function on your washing machine, or soak in a covered rust-proof container. Change soaking water daily.
Machine wash cold using a natural detergent and tumble dry low or line dry. Do not use bleach or fabric softener. You may hand wash pads if desired.
Remove pads from dryer promptly and store flat to eliminate wrinkling; use cool iron if desired. Store your pads in a clean, dry place until next use.

Avoid using detergents with fabric softeners or whiteners/brighteners as these can inhibit the absorbency of your cloth pads. Try these plastic-free, non-toxic laundry detergent sheets from our friends at Zero Waste Cartel! Be aware that soaking your cloth pads in water with additives such as hydrogen peroxide can degrade the fabric and lead to holes. For this reason, we recommend utilizing stain removers as spot treatments and do not advise soaking cloth pads in water treated with peroxide-based stain removers.

We do not recommend the use of castile soap, facial soap, or other soaps not intended for textile laundering. Excess detergent may lead to build up, which can limit the absorbency of your cloth pads. While we have many customers that use homemade detergents with great success, cloth pads laundered with homemade detergent are not covered under our warranty. Full warranty information is available here.

A note about staining: Soaking your GladRags in cold water or pre-treating with an enzymatic cleanser immediately after using are two simple ways to prevent staining. However, light staining does not indicate that your laundered cloth pads are not clean or sanitary!

To clean your GladRags Carry Bag, simply wipe the bag with a damp cloth or machine wash cold, then air dry or tumble dry low.
