How to Return Items Purchased from GladRags.com

Before getting started with your new GladRags cloth pads, please read these tips to make sure you have the best experience possible:

We recommend washing your products before use. However, if you are using GladRags for the first time, please wash and try one pad only to be sure that you are satisfied before washing your whole order. Only never-washed, never-used GladRags pads may be returned for a refund or store credit.

GladRags are made by hand, and occasionally an item may have a minor issue that is not up to our standards (such as a broken snap). If you receive an item you believe to have a manufacturer’s defect, please contact us right away to describe the issue so we can make it right. Our pads are made to last at least 5 years with typical use, and we will replace any items that prove to be defective in materials or workmanship within 5 years of the purchase date from GladRags.com. Please email a detailed description and photos of the suspected defect to hello@gladrags.com along with proof of purchase. Please note that staining, discoloration, or cosmetic changes that do not affect the usability of the product are not considered defects.

Always refer to the instructions included with each product for usage and care details. We are not able to replace items damaged by improper care, such as the use of household bleach or other harsh cleansing agents not included on product usage and care instructions, including but not limited to fabric softener, whiteners, castille soap, facial soap, homemade soaps, or any other soap not intended for textile laundering.

Follow the directions below to begin the return process for items purchased from GladRags.com.

To return never-used, never-washed GladRags cloth pads for a refund:

1. Circle the items on your packing slip that you are returning. Items marked with an asterisk* are not eligible for return or exchange.

2. List the reason for return next to the item name.

3. Return never-washed, never-used items to:

Authorized Resellers

We are proud to work with many wonderful resellers of our products, who help us bring reusable products to menstruators around the world! Unfortunately, GladRags products are sometimes sold by companies that are not authorized to do so and do not meet our expectations of quality and customer care. GladRags does not sell products or authorize sellers on Walmart, Rakuten, or similar 3rd party shopping platforms. Please contact us directly before purchasing if you are unsure if the seller is an authorized seller of GladRags products. CLEANING & CARE

Caring for your cloth pads is simple. Follow our easy step-by-step instructions to ensure your GladRags will stay in great condition for years to come.

Easy care: Machine washable with standard detergent. Designed to retain absorbency and shape wash after wash.

Detailed Cloth Pad Cleaning & Care:

After use, separate the inserts from the holder. Pantyliners do not have inserts.
Soak in cold water, if desired, to help prevent staining. Use the presoak function on your washing machine, or soak in a covered rust-proof container. Change soaking water daily.
Machine wash cold using a natural detergent and tumble dry low or line dry. Do not use bleach or fabric softener. You may hand wash pads if desired.
Remove pads from dryer promptly and store flat to eliminate wrinkling; use cool iron if desired. Store your pads in a clean, dry place until next use.

Avoid using detergents with fabric softeners or whiteners/brighteners as these can inhibit the absorbency of your cloth pads. Try these plastic-free, non-toxic laundry detergent sheets from our friends at Zero Waste Cartel! Be aware that soaking your cloth pads in water with additives such as hydrogen peroxide can degrade the fabric and lead to holes. For this reason, we recommend utilizing stain removers as spot treatments and do not advise soaking cloth pads in water treated with peroxide-based stain removers.

We do not recommend the use of castile soap, facial soap, or other soaps not intended for textile laundering. Excess detergent may lead to build up, which can limit the absorbency of your cloth pads. While we have many customers that use homemade detergents with great success, cloth pads laundered with homemade detergent are not covered under our warranty. Full warranty information is available here.

A note about staining: Soaking your GladRags in cold water or pre-treating with an enzymatic cleanser immediately after using are two simple ways to prevent staining. However, light staining does not indicate that your laundered cloth pads are not clean or sanitary!

To clean your GladRags Carry Bag, simply wipe the bag with a damp cloth or machine wash cold, then air dry or tumble dry low.

Pretty and sturdy for alternate use

As I have a heavy flow and needed a lot of space for my dry pads and soiled ones, I actually use this bag in Sapporo for my makeup. It's not the intended use, but works wonderfully. It's a great low profile size but holds many items, is smooth and water resistant material, and has washed well. This bag might work for pads along with a wet bag. For me it's easier to use a two compartment wet bag. Still, I recommend this awesome bag for other uses.

Great for putting dirty product in whole out and about. Wish came in a slightly smaller size option as well. Will order another when needed.

    Perfect for the workday

I have this in the Rita print - a nice happy pattern :)
It is just the right size to fit two day pads (with both inserts) in the front pocket that snaps (the clean or dry pocket; the wings need to be folded but the length of the day pad fits). I fold dirty pads when they go into the zippered pocket, so the bag itself is typically not getting soiled (so I’ve not had to launder it often, but I love that it can go through the washer!). The day pad plus would be too long to fit without folding front-to-back in addition to folding the wings, so I would expect it would be bulkier if packing it with the same number of longer pads.
I like that it looks like a cute clutch—not making it obvious that it is carrying period products. I have been able to (just barely) fit it into the inner pocket of my fleece jacket; it fits more easily into a lab coat pocket. I also can carry it in my hand or tuck it under my arm without feeling too awkward while walking to the restroom at work.
This would not be big enough for an overnight trip; for that I would bring the small wet bag (stash clean pads in a corner of my suitcase or a separate bag the doesn’t have to be waterproof, use the wet bag for dirty pads, and still use this carry bag for while I’m out and about during the day).

    Handy but Cramped

This bag is very handy when you're on the go. It's sturdy, leak proof, easy to clean, and discreet enough that I'm not embarrassed to carry it through the halls at work without my purse.
My only problem is that it's a bit small for my heavy days. If I fold and snap them, I can fit 2 day pads (1 insert each) in the front/dry pocket of the bag. I usually tuck another one in the zipper portion and just use that one first when I'm changing out, but that's still only 3 fresh pads. So, if I'm going out all day, it can get a bit dicey...
Still, there are way more pros than cons. So, I'm quite happy with my purchase.

Practical, a little small for travel

The bag is well made and easy to wipe clean, but not quite big enough to take the pantiliners without folding the wings. This means for longer trips it gets pretty bulky. You might consider having 2 versions: this one for daily use and another, larger one for travel.

    Works fine

The bag works fine, could be a bit larger for the larger pads to better fit it, but I can fold them, so, it works for my purposes. Plus, I think the material feels very nice. It's practical to have the two separate compartements, one with a zipper and one with a press button, one smaller, one larger, so you can't accidently mix them up.

    Bigger Than I Thought

This bag definitely is waterproof and well made, with a strong zipper that'll clearly last the test of time. The front snap pocket is also well made, though I worry that the very strong snap may end up ripping the fabric over time. I trust this bag to securely and cleanly store my pads when I'm on the go (purses and backpacks are dirty, yo!), and the only issue I have with the bag is that it's a bit bigger than I expected. The good news about that is that it'll store more pads, but the bad news is that I can't fit it in my regular purses; I have to use at least a medium-sized purse if I want to use this bag. When stuffed with a few pads on a heavy day, this bag requires a large purse or a backpack to carry around.

    Works but...

I thought it would be nice to have this bag since I travel alot and it could be my discreet holder of used gladrags until I got to do laundry. I no longer have a period so I only needed to store my used pantiliners. Well this carry bag isn't big enough for the purpose I intended. I use the mesh laundry bag instead. So for me it was an expensive mistake. That said, the bag is super cute and if you wish to use it to carry a backup for the day and have a place to store your used gladrag then you should be happy with the purchase.
