Our Night Pad Plus gives you reliable, no-nonsense protection—and worry-free sleep—that lasts till morning - and the extra long inserts make this our most absorbent (and most popular!) night pad.
Each Night Pad Plus is customizable with one holder and two long, flared inserts, with full absorbency equivalent to a standard overnight maxi pad. At 14" long with a unique flared design, the tapered ends help prevent leaks whether you’re a front, back or side sleeper, making them perfect for heavy overnight periods or postpartum recovery.
Try the Night Pad if you’d like the same pad length, but with shorter inserts.

Don't Just Take Our Word For It:
Top 5 Questions From People Thinking About Switching:
Do they REALLY save money?
There's a lot of talk out there about saving money over time, but the math doesn't always add up. Ours does.
Exact amounts vary based on what type of disposable pads you use, and how many you use per period, but a low average assumes 25 pads per cycle (5 pads/day for 5 days) or 300 pads per year, totaling approximately $450 over 5 years. If you buy 'natural' or organic pads, the 5 year cost is more like $1,070–$1,430. And disposable pad costs have risen 41%+ since 2020, so who knows what they'll be in 5 years!
Our Conventional Deluxe Kit costs $288 and the Organic version is $345, and they're guaranteed to last 5 years. So over 5 years, you're going to save $100-162. At the bare minimum.
And if you currently buy Organic pads, and your new GladRags last longer than 5 years (many customers use them for 10!), You could be saving $2500+ over the next 10 years!
Are they hard to wash?
You can machine wash and dry with your normal laundry.
There's more extensive laundering information below and you can make it as much of a process as you want, but it can really be as simple as that.
Will they leak?
They do not have a plastic liner in them, they will eventually leak through (like a tampon!). How fast you bleed through them depends on how heavy your flow is, and also how thin your menstrual blood is.
Use one insert for light flow and two for more protection, and you'll be worry free! Since we developed the Night Pad Plus with longer inserts and more absorbency up the back and front, this has become our most popular night pad. We recommend that anyone worried about night leaks start with the Night Pad Plus.
Are cloth pads bulkier than disposables?
Most customers say that they feel softer and more comfortable than disposables.
Can we talk about ... odor?
The elephant in the room: Are they going to smell?
Cotton breathes better than plastic pads and does not contain any chemical gels. So our pads do have that strong 'disposable pad' smell that everyone hates. Most people worry that reusable pads will be like that x10, but they're not.
If you don't keep your used pads in an airtight container or bag for days on end, smells are generally a non issue. You can also rinse your GladRags out with cool water before putting them in the laundry if you do notice anything.

Not Sure About Using Reusable Pads for Heavy Flows?
Check out our Heavy Flow Sampler. Many customers appreciate:
- You don't need plastic liners to manage heavy bleeding
- It's nice to test the heavy flow options and find what works best so you know what to invest in.
- Easiest to transition to cloth pads when you have a few different styles to choose from.
FAQ
HOW MANY PADS DO I NEED?
Most people start with 8-12 pads and have to wash 1-2 times during their cycle. If you're new to cloth pads, we recommend a Cloth Pad Starter Kit (or Starter Kit Plus), using that for a few cycles and figuring out what else you need to complete your collection.
HOW LONG DO THEY LAST?
We guarantee our pads to last at least 5 years with proper care. Hundreds of customers have told us that their pads lasted at least 10 years before they replaced them (or menopause started)! Personally, I've been using the same pads for over 12.
Our cost savings estimates are all based on 5 years of use, but if you actually use them for 10 years, imagine how much more you'll save!
CAN THEY BE USED FOR LIGHT INCONTINENCE?
They sure can. While GladRags were originally designed for menstruation, it didn't take long to start hearing from customers that they were being used for light leaks. That's not something we talk about enough as a culture, but light incontinence impacts 1/3 of women! They're a wonderful alternative to disposables.
Most people find that the pantyliner plus is the perfect light incontinence solution. For a little more peace of mind (or the ability to swap out the insert for a new one), the Day Pad is the other go-to option.
CLEANING & CARE
Caring for your cloth pads is simple. Follow our easy step-by-step instructions to ensure your GladRags will stay in great condition for years to come.
Easy care: Machine washable with standard detergent. Designed to retain absorbency and shape wash after wash.
Detailed Cloth Pad Cleaning & Care:

After use, separate the inserts from the holder. Pantyliners do not have inserts. |
![]() |
Soak in cold water, if desired, to help prevent staining. Use the presoak function on your washing machine, or soak in a covered rust-proof container. Change soaking water daily. |
![]() |
Machine wash cold using a natural detergent and tumble dry low or line dry. Do not use bleach or fabric softener. You may hand wash pads if desired. |
![]() |
Remove pads from dryer promptly and store flat to eliminate wrinkling; use cool iron if desired. Store your pads in a clean, dry place until next use. |
Avoid using detergents with fabric softeners or whiteners/brighteners as these can inhibit the absorbency of your cloth pads. Try these plastic-free, non-toxic laundry detergent sheets from our friends at Zero Waste Cartel! Be aware that soaking your cloth pads in water with additives such as hydrogen peroxide can degrade the fabric and lead to holes. For this reason, we recommend utilizing stain removers as spot treatments and do not advise soaking cloth pads in water treated with peroxide-based stain removers.
We do not recommend the use of castile soap, facial soap, or other soaps not intended for textile laundering. Excess detergent may lead to build up, which can limit the absorbency of your cloth pads. While we have many customers that use homemade detergents with great success, cloth pads laundered with homemade detergent are not covered under our warranty. Full warranty information is available here.
A note about staining: Soaking your GladRags in cold water or pre-treating with an enzymatic cleanser immediately after using are two simple ways to prevent staining. However, light staining does not indicate that your laundered cloth pads are not clean or sanitary!
To clean your GladRags Carry Bag, simply wipe the bag with a damp cloth or machine wash cold, then air dry or tumble dry low.
