Overall great item!
I am new cloth pads, but I have been using a menstrual cup for a number of years. I still leak from my cup as I have a heavy flow so for the most part I wear pads as back up (or when I don’t feel like fiddling with my cup!) I do appreciate the night option in case of a big leak (its happened). I plan to have enough for the heaviest nights of my period! Absorb fine for my needs (i don’t fill them as I generally cannot stand the feeling of wet pads)! And love that by doing the club option I can slowly build My stash!
rainbow nigh pads
very comfy to use and easy to clean
Love the night pads
I love GladRags night pads! I usually use the night pad plus, but got a couple of the regular night pads to try out. For me personally, the placement of the small inserts isn’t especially helpful, so I usually pair the night pad holder with a night pad plus insert, or use the holder by itself during my medium cycle days. The small inserts are helpful to use along with one of the night pad plus inserts, I just scoot the small insert up a little higher, and the bigger insert helps keep the smaller one in place (I put the small one in first). Overall a good pad, but I prefer the night pad plus.
I am in the process of transitioning to zero waste periods, so this review is coming from someone who is still looking for the best, most comfortable solution. Some info: my preference is period undies, as they are most comfortable, but I need extra coverage for 1-2 days in addition to even the most absorbent undies, especially overnight. This is where the gladrags come in. Also, I am small both in clothing size and height :) I bought a night pad after trying a regular day pad and being dissatisfied with the small area of coverage even for daytime. The night pad definitely has enough coverage for laying down and tossing and turning, and the long, base piece of the pad is actually thicker than the regular liners, so I was happy to see that. However, after using the night pad once and now looking at the night pad plus in comparison, I'm not sure why I bought the regular night pad instead. The insert pieces, which are the real absorbent pieces of any gladrag, are surprisingly small, only covering about the area of the built in liner of your panties. I suppose if you have a light period (but somehow need a lot of absorbency overnight?), this is not much of a concern, as the long piece of the pad does have some thickness to it, but for someone like me whose body thinks it is a competition to see how much blood I can lose without passing out, I should have bought the nightpad plus that has inserts in a similar size to the rest of the pad. For that reason, I would not purchase again, although I will probably buy a night pad plus. Also, I found the night pad to be quite uncomfortable to wear (I paired with a thin* pair of period undies, FYI). It bunched up a bit when standing, as it is so much bigger than my undies, and took a bit of adjusting if I went the bathroom. Since my primary use is to wear while sleeping though, it is not the end of the world. I did not notice the pad at all once I was cozy in bed :)
Exactly what I've been looking for!
These are so great- they have great coverage for heavy-flow nights or long days when I know I won't have the change to change my pads as frequently as I might like. I've switched from period panties (which just weren't feeling really clean to me) to these and have been really pleased!
