Our Pantyliner is perfect for light flows, spotting, daily discharge, or as backup protection for cups or tampons.

The shortest and most discreet of our all-cotton pads, the pantyliner is preferred by small-bodied folks. It fits flat folded up in a coin purse, so it’s perfect to carry around for those unpredictable times.

The Pantyliner is shorter than the Pantyliner Plus, but has a little more form to it from two extra layers of flannel on the wings. For extra length and coverage at the wings, check out the Pantyliner Plus.

    • GladRags Reusable Pads

    How GladRags Work

    1. Snap pantyliner around underwear.
    2. Change as often as you would a disposable pad (try our carry bags for easy on the go-storage)
    3. Wash and reuse!

Hot tip: All three styles of Pantyliners are as absorbent as a disposable liner. The main difference between the pantyliner and pantyliner plus is length!

Don't Just Take Our Word For It:

Reusable cloth pantyliners praised for comfort, softness, and eco-friendliness. Customers said they're "like clouds" and "softer than your favorite underwear." Most appreciate absorbency and durability lasting years. Common concerns: some find them too short, may slide around, and organic versions bunch when washed. Price considered high initially but cost-effective long-term.

I bought my GR Pantyliner specially for incontinence. I love the fit of this style better than the Pantyliner Plus and Day Pad with one insert. It fits well and doesn't bunch. I just wish it was a tad longer. My ideal would the the Pantyliner Plus length with the design of the regular Pantyliner.

I love these. I have basically completely switched from the disposable panty liners to the GR panty liners. I was using at least 2 disposable panty liners daily. I Feel confident about decreasing toxic exposure. One thing I will say is that the organic ones bunch up in the wash so much that they would need ironing. They creep up in an uncomfortable way. With the extra expense, I would not buy those again hence the 4 stars and not 5. The non organic does not do that so it’s what I use the most. If organic is important to you…that is a compromise IMO. Higher maintenance vs non organic cotton.

    The best I've tried

I only recently started using reusable pantyliners. The first ones I tried were from another brand. Those look more polished than these do, but due to their slippery nylon backing, the other brand's are very prone to sliding back as I wear them, which is very annoying- even with an extra snap.
Then I decided to try these. I have some of these small ones and some of the longer size, and I like these better. I am a petite person, and I generally wear what I would describe as "wide crotch underwear." These fit snugly enough around them that they don't slide around. If you wear narrow crotch underwear, you may have a different experience.
These don't feel bulky at all. I can actually forget that I'm wearing it throughout the day. The organic ones are a little bulkier.
I think my only wish is that they had more fabric patterns to choose from.

    GladRags are Rad

After using traditional menstrual products for years, I finally discovered the ease (and savings) of a menstrual cup. As a backup, I bought some menstrual undies that were awesome but ludicrously expensive...I figured hey, I'm not buying disposable, right? After a few years of regular use, they look pretty ratty. I can't really justify the cost of replacing them but they did do a great job. At some point I'll give them a viking send off. So, I decided to give GladRags a try! This was a great decision for me. I bought six pantyliners after trying out the free pantyliner plus. Then I was so happy, I checked out their menstrual cup and realized that the GladRags design is a huge upgrade from my old one. It's more flexible and easier to clean. Needless to say, I'm set for a really long time. The pantyliners fold up really nicely after use and I haven't had any issues wearing or washing them. Another bonus, I have minor bladder control problems after giving birth (sneezing, jumping) and these pantyliners are a nice backup. If you're on the fence, go for it...GladRags are worth it.

    Love!

I ordered three here and love them. They are so soft and don’t shift around. The random selection worked out well and I even got the one that was my favorite! I’ll definitely buy more

    Comfortable and sturdy

I have been using the panty liners daily for about a year and I am very satisfied with my purchase. You don’t notice it’s there during the day, and they aren’t any trouble to wash. Snap is secure throughout the day; only had it unsnap while wearing once. Sometimes the pad will slide forward or backward over the course if the day, which can be a little annoying, but it happens infrequently enough so as not to be a nuisance. After one year of use, the liners are still in great shape. The stitching is very neat and durable. Thanks!

    Excellent product

I saw this at a local grocery store but got curious about it, so I decided to come to this site to read more. After reading everything I stayed on the fence for a few days, but finally took the plunge. I am very happy I did, because it is unbelievable how absorbent they are! You really stay dry and fresh all day. I guarantee you will notice the lesser amount of bathroom trash collected. It is unbelievable! I am permanently saying good bye to pantyliner plastics and associated chemicals! Say hello to producing less trash one item at a time while taking care of yourself! Just wish they came in more designs!

    Great but

I like this product but I’m frustrated by the supply restrictions/ inability to choose the pattern you like. I bought some years ago and lost like 80% of them, disappearing like socks do, and I wanted to replace but hardly seems worth it if I can’t get the ones I want. Basic consumer stuff!
Generally I like it for everyday wear so if I start to feel funky it’s easy to refresh to a new one without taking my pants all the way off to change underwear.

Thank you for your review, Mel! Normally we have many color and pattern options. Unfortunately, our manufacturing schedule has been affected by the pandemic, which is why we can't offer more choices right now. As soon as we are able to, we will announce it in our newsletter, which you can sign up for here: https://mailchi.mp/gladrags/signup!

    Pretty good

This is the first pantyliner I've purchased from GladRags after receiving the first Pantyliner Plus free. I like the smaller size, but it tends to slide around a lot because the band fits so loosely around my underwear. I want to echo some previous comments in requesting that you add another snap in the future to make the size adjustable. In the meantime, I'll be switching back to the plus size because it stays in place better!

    Great for my lightest days

The material is very soft and it protects me on my lightest days. I think the size is too small for me and may be better suited for teens. I am a petite young adult. This size tends to give me wedgies, but that's just a part of life! I prefer the plus size, but I would rather use this reusable pad than a single use plastic pad! I also wear this pad when I wear my menstrual cup from GladRags which I love so much!

Good for a low activity day.

I ordered this product recently and noticed immediately that they were well made with a nice, soft material. My plan was to use the pantyliners for light/spotting days which they are sufficient however having an active job I found that due to the shape and way that it fastens, it moved around quick a bit and gave me a perma-wedgie!
Unfortunately I have already used them so I am unable to exchange but if you are looking for a pantyliner that will stay put I would recommend the next model up with more coverage for the mere fact that it might slide around less.

    Almost perfect...

I've been trying out a number of brands that offer reusable pads/and liners, and I feel the Glad Rags are *almost* perfect! The thinness of the pantyliners is exactly what I have been looking for. They're easy to wash and have held up for the past few months I've had them.
The only downside is the snap and the wrap that goes around my panties. I am a smaller, petite woman and found the piece that wraps around my panties to be too loose. There is only one snap so I am not able to adjust the fit to make the pantyliner fit more snug around my panties. This makes the pantyliner rotate during the day and I find the liner to be half on my panties, and half way turned around. I thought about sewing another snap onto the liner, but my sewing skills are lacking and didn't want to ruin it. If these liners had an extra snap I would buy them in bulk!
Hopefully an extra snap will one day be incorporated because the pantyliner is perfect in every other way!
    Thanks!

    Wonderful

I adore these cloth liners. When I first purchased I was concerned they would bunch or feel bulky, but they don't. They're so much more comfortable than disposables, and I love the colorful patterns. I do think they're a tad pricy for what they are, but honestly over time they'll be worth it since they will last for years with proper care.

    Great purchase

Nice to use during my cycle and while running for mommy bladder. The cotton is soft against my skin, easy to wash and the pattern is super cute. Would recommend if you care about reducing waste!

    AMAZING!

I am so pleased with these products. They are well made, beautiful, comfortable and eco-friendly. I actually look forward to using them when on my period! These are definitely for the lighter days, so I suggest also getting a daypad as well. Will be purchasing again!

    Love these!

My recent order was to replace some of my initial order from about 15 years ago. That's how long it took for the snaps to start pulling away from the fabric. I think the newer ones are even better quality than those early minis.

    Wonderful for every day

I have used another cloth pad for 5 years now and would never go back to disposable pads. This is my first order of GladRags liners, and I was at first a bit disappointed because the liners are smaller in size than the ones I had been using. However, much to my delight, the GladRags liners stay in place! I don't need to adjust them throughout the day like I had to with the other brand. I am post menopausal, and I wear them every day for freshness and in case of any leakage (ladies my age know what I mean

    Prefer plus size

I love the GladRags pads. I have an adhesive allergy so they are a lifesaver. I needed some more pantyliners, I already had some plus size ones & wanted to try a smaller size. But I've found that I really like the plus size better. They stay put much better and have a bit longer length. I have had some leaks in the front with the regular size. But I do really like the absorbency, they're good for spotting and light-medium days.

Pads are great for minor leaking during excercise. The feeling of security from discomfort from a minor leak is huge!

    Never going back

Initially seeking ways to be more environmentally responsible, I purchased a set of glad rags. After my first use I was immediately converted and have recommended them to every menstruating person I know. Earth friendly, very comfortable, effective and all with pretty fabrics. I wish I'd done this years ago. I don't think I could ever use plastic based liners again. Also, although the initial cost may seem alot at first, I worked out that each pad I purchased paid for itself after only 4 uses so have already begun to save money... and the 'ick' factor is honestly non-existant - it's really not much different to washing a pair of undies or socks. These are some of the only products I've ever found that I actually feel excited about because they are really making a difference for the better.

    Wonderful

These pantyliners are great to use with the XO menstrual cup and also on light days. They're thin enough to be barely noticeable, but thick enough to be perfect coverage for my needs. The midnight garden pattern is adorable too!

Satisfied with Purchase, but have a Suggestion for Improvement

I ordered a set of pantyliners. As described on the webpage, they're just right for protection alongside my menstrual cup and simply for additional protection during ovulation. I also appreciate that they arrived in biodegradable packaging. Nice work, GladRags.
My one suggestion is that I wish the liner had TWO snap options rather than just one. I don't know if I am narrower than other women, but the pad hangs a bit awkwardly beneath my underwear. If only there were an option to tighten it up a bit more, the product would be perfect.

    LOVE!!!

I love the GladRags panty liner! Not only is it great as backup for my menstrual cup, but it also does great on its own with my ovulation discharge. They are thin, sleek, have cute patterns and don't move around in your undies.

    Wings :(

I like the size of these liners but the wings are a bit long in my opinion. They often times feel too loose on the underwear and the liner moves back and forth...

Top 5 Questions From People Thinking About Switching:

    Do they REALLY save money?

There's a lot of talk out there about saving money over time, but the math doesn't always add up. Ours does.

Exact amounts vary based on what type of disposable pads you use, and how many you use per period, but a low average assumes 25 pads per cycle (5 pads/day for 5 days) or 300 pads per year, totaling approximately $450 over 5 years. If you buy 'natural' or Organic pads, the 5 year cost is more like $1,070–$1,430. And disposable pad costs have risen 40%+ since 2020, so who knows what they'll be in 5 years!

Our Conventional Deluxe Kit costs $288 and the Organic version is $345, and they're guaranteed to last 5 years. So over 5 years, you're going to save $100-162. At the bare minimum.

And if you currently buy Organic pads, and your new GladRags last longer than 5 years (many customers use them for 10!), You could be saving $2500+ over the next 10 years!

    Will they leak?

They do not have a plastic liner in them, they will eventually leak through (like a tampon!). How fast you bleed through them depends on how heavy your flow is, and also how thin your menstrual blood is.

Change pads as you would a disposable, and you'll be worry free!

    Are cloth pads bulky?

Most customers say that they feel softer and more comfortable than disposables.

    How do I wash them?

Lots of people worry they'll be hard to wash. But it's easy! You can just machine wash and dry with your normal laundry.

There's more extensive laundering information below and you can make it as much of a process as you want, but it can really be as simple as that.

Can we talk about ... odor?

The elephant in the room: Are they going to smell?

Cotton breathes better than plastic pads and does not contain any chemical gels. So our pads do not have that gross 'disposable pad' smell that everyone hates. Most people worry that reusable pads will be like that x10, but they're not.

If you empty out your carry bag of used pads daily, smells are generally a non issue. You can also rinse your GladRags out with cool water before putting them in the laundry if you do notice anything.

    New to Reusable Pads?

Start with a kit. Most customers appreciate:

    • Starting with enough pads for a cycle
    • Getting the best value
    • Easier transition with different styles to choose at different parts of their cycle

    FAQ

HOW MANY PADS DO I NEED?

Most people start with 8-12 pads and have to wash 1-2 times during their cycle. If you're new to cloth pads, we recommend a Cloth Pad Starter Kit (or Starter Kit Plus), using that for a few cycles and figuring out what else you need to complete your collection.

    HOW LONG DO THEY LAST?

We guarantee our pads to last at least 5 years with proper care. Hundreds of customers have told us that their pads lasted at least 10 years before they replaced them (or menopause started)! Personally, I've been using the same pads for over 12.

Our cost savings estimates are all based on 5 years of use, but if you actually use them for 10 years, imagine how much more you'll save!

CAN THEY BE USED FOR LIGHT INCONTINENCE?

They sure can. While GladRags were originally designed for menstruation, it didn't take long to start hearing from customers that they were being used for light leaks. That's not something we talk about enough as a culture, but light incontinence impacts 1/3 of women! They're a wonderful alternative to disposables.

Most people find that the pantyliner plus is the perfect light incontinence solution. For a little more peace of mind (or the ability to swap out the insert for a new one), the Day Pad is the other go-to option.

    CLEANING & CARE

Caring for your cloth pads is simple. Follow our easy step-by-step instructions to ensure your GladRags will stay in great condition for years to come.

Easy care: Machine washable with standard detergent. Designed to retain absorbency and shape wash after wash.

Detailed Cloth Pad Cleaning & Care:

After use, separate the inserts from the holder. Pantyliners do not have inserts.
Soak in cold water, if desired, to help prevent staining. Use the presoak function on your washing machine, or soak in a covered rust-proof container. Change soaking water daily.
Machine wash cold using a natural detergent and tumble dry low or line dry. Do not use bleach or fabric softener. You may hand wash pads if desired.
Remove pads from dryer promptly and store flat to eliminate wrinkling; use cool iron if desired. Store your pads in a clean, dry place until next use.

Avoid using detergents with fabric softeners or whiteners/brighteners as these can inhibit the absorbency of your cloth pads. Try these plastic-free, non-toxic laundry detergent sheets from our friends at Zero Waste Cartel! Be aware that soaking your cloth pads in water with additives such as hydrogen peroxide can degrade the fabric and lead to holes. For this reason, we recommend utilizing stain removers as spot treatments and do not advise soaking cloth pads in water treated with peroxide-based stain removers.

We do not recommend the use of castile soap, facial soap, or other soaps not intended for textile laundering. Excess detergent may lead to build up, which can limit the absorbency of your cloth pads. While we have many customers that use homemade detergents with great success, cloth pads laundered with homemade detergent are not covered under our warranty. Full warranty information is available here.

A note about staining: Soaking your GladRags in cold water or pre-treating with an enzymatic cleanser immediately after using are two simple ways to prevent staining. However, light staining does not indicate that your laundered cloth pads are not clean or sanitary!

To clean your GladRags Carry Bag, simply wipe the bag with a damp cloth or machine wash cold, then air dry or tumble dry low.
